This is a place that if you order a dish that would come with meat you will not know the difference. The food is top quality. The appetizers are always great. Don't forget to look at the Living Deserts which are the best. We normally order the cooked entrees, but always get a raw desert.

Vegan? This good? SERIOUSLY?!?! Oh my goodness, you will not believe the flavors these folks bring to a plate of raw, vegan cuisine. If you're vegetarian, vegan, paleo, dairy-free, or gluten-free, you will be in heaven. If you're a carnivore, I promise ... you won't even miss the meat. At tonight's visit, we ordered the following ... pictures attached. Cream... More

One of the best meals I've had in all of California. Au Lac menu is entirely vegan with a good selection of raw (living) foods, but you don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy their wonderful Vietnamese food with a twist (a cuisine that they self-labelled 'humanese'). It's all very no frills- simple decor, unassuming location in a strip... More

They call themselves a "Humanese" restaurant, and they serve a variety of Asian foods including Pho, Spring Rolls, Sweet and Sour Soup, and Eggplant Hot Pot. But, they also have an extensive raw menu that includes menu items that seem out of place like Risotto and Soft Taco. Don't let that fool you, however - both the Asian dishes and... More

I had lunch here with two travel industry professionals who have been all over the world. We all loved this restaurant. The food is delicious, satisfying, beautiful, and creative. I took the advice of previous reviewers and ordered the Green Pyramid -- I recommend it to you, too. The room itself is not fancy, but comfortable and attractive. Although the... More

I've been eating at Au Lac for years, and it never disappoints. EVER. There are a few things to know about the restaurant. It has two kitchens/two menus--the cooked, and the raw or "living' menus. Everything is vegan, just divided into cooked and raw items (and even the "raw/living items might be warmed). Also (and this doesn't affect the food,... More

Great place for a romantic dinner or for a special occasion. My only negative is that they rely too much on the faux meat. More dishes with vegetables would be great.

After teaching a bunch of classes today, I drove all the way to Fountain Valley to have vegan food. It was already past 1pm and I had not eaten a single meal. I got to Au Lac, and upon pushing then pulling the front door of the restaurant, I realized the restaurant is closed. What a bummer!! I asked a... More

Wonderful ambiance great food friendly staff. Food is beautifully served and the menu is varied and unique. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes medium large. Great lunch spot is quiet for conversation as well.

Best sweet and sour "chicken" from any restaurant. Food is fresh and delicious. You would not know you are eating vegan food. Also try the desserts. I could eat there every day.

Description
Here at Au Lac the compassion manifests itself in the attention to detail that goes into every dish we want to cultivate an atmosphere where people come together to create a center of gravity pulsating with love, harmony, and health. We opened our doors in 1996 and introduced our Vegan RAW cuisine in 2001. The concept of the restaurant is we honor the arrival of every guest, treat each as our friend to honor the humanese concept, and anyone representing Au Lac is eager to present the two kitchens and have a chance to serve a delicious meal. It's a unique meal in that there are only plant-based, unprocessed and organic ingredients. Vegan-Living is our style of dining but also a lifestyle you can feel.
