Alex has run this small, intimate restaurant for many years, and the food is always excellent. Nice, quiet atmosphere, outdoor seating as well.
Chalet Ticino's Lunch menu and Dinner menu offer up a wide selection of Swiss-Italian dishes, complemented by a few selections with a distinctly European flair. Alex's Bundener Raclette is one of the best I've ever had. Fondue selections are an especially superb treat for a change-of-pace. Fish, Veal and Pasta selections are consistently good and it is hard to chose... More
This little neighborhood restaurant was delightful. Very classy for a small place. The menu was an interesting variety. My husband and I shared the pork tenderloin which was excellent. The spumoni was very good as well. The soup portion was small but the Italian wedding soup contained a lot of meat for the size. Definitely will return.
We went there for lunch as we drove into the Bay area, because I had known the owner 25 years ago in Seattle and heard he opened this restaurant. We surprised him and he delighted us with an incredible fine dining experience in this quaint, tucked away gem. Alex De Toth, the owner, waits tables and provides very unique menu... More
This local restaurant in Foster City serves a much wider clientele, so it is advisable to get a reservation. The setting is small and tastefully furnished. Wine and beer available.
This tiny restaurant tucked away in a nondescript strip mall was a huge disappointment. Although I made reservations, my friend and I were seated at a small corner table close to the kitchen, while larger tables next to the window remained empty the entire time we were there. We both ordered eggplant Parmesan and shared a salad. The Caesar salad... More
The atmosphere and service were quite wonderful The owner was very pleasant and attentive. Our entrees though, were a bit disappointing for at least 2 members of our party The kale salad was a bit tough. The fish of the day which was what I ordered was delightful. I was particularly excited to go since the restaurant was featured on... More
I learned about this restaurant on a show called "Check Please, Bay Area" on PBS. It didn't disappoint, the owner was there and treated us very well! The food was different (Swiss Italian) and delicious, though very rich! Highly recommend.
I had a special of the day. Homemade Spinich Ravioli. I chose their pesto sauce. It was the best pesto sauce I've ever had. The two giant ravioli were amazing too. I also had a small Caesar Salad. It had the perfect amount of dressing, not too much. I was a very happy man when I left. Great service too!
