Excellent fresh mixed seafood ceviche swimming in lime juice. Fresh mixed salad with an amazing quinoa salad! So delicious! Beautiful garden patio easy to miss this little place... But that would be your mistake!

A lovely place, great people, superb food and a great place to stay all rolled into one. The Secret Place is one of Del Mar's best kept secrets. Delicious Peruvian dishes to die for with friendly service. I was lucky to experience the beautiful music of Yael and Vlady on one of the evenings I visited.

To be honest, I'm hesitant to review this gem of a restaurant. It is small, quaint, delicious, and home-y. There aren't too many tables and they are all outside. Usually, we are able to get a table without any wait or reservation. This has been our favorite restaurant since we've discovered it! I've now tried EVERYTHING on the menu. (Not... More

We were walking down the street and happened upon this little gem, a Peruvian restaurant. All tables are outside, some under a canopy, and a few more exposed, but all nicely situated. the menu was so exotic, very authentic. The ceviche was delightful!! the soup was a delight, like home made, and the empanada was so precious, great crust and... More

The restaurant offers covered outdoor seatings only but there plenty of heaters for cool weather. There is a good selection of Peruvian dishes. A couple of highlights were the Pulpito (octopus) appetizer and the Chaufa, a seafood rice dish with Cantonese influences. They offer Chicha Morada (a sweet Peruvian blue-corn drink) without alcohol or as a sangria. Desserts are house-made.... More

This place is very unique, with mostly outdoor sitting offers good flavor and great service. I have tried here the ceviche, tamales, Aji de gallina and everything tastes good. I was a little disappointed to see that the price of ceviche has gone up twice since I started going here and the portion is very small. If you are planning... More

Had dinner here with hubby. Having frequented other Peruvian restaurants in our travels, I will have to say we were disappointed. We ordered the lomo saltado. There was hardly any beef and the very few pieces of beef we had was fatty. Had more yuca and tomatoes. The portion size was ridiculously small. Definitely not an entree portion. The fish... More

Description
The magic that happens in Cafe Secret's tiny kitchen dates back to the couple's childhood years in Peru, where good food and great company was a part of life. We are full-service restaurant proud to serve homemade authentic Peruvian cuisine. Join us in the heart of Del Mar, San Diego California. Our cozy indoor-outdoor setting, on the street, covered by beautiful bugambilia, resembles side street cafe from a european city. Romatic, quaint with a lot of character. Come and join us for some out of this world flavors.
