We have visited Del Mar several times, but somehow missed this restaurant before. This won't happen again! Located just outside Del Mar proper. This is a small, charming spot with only a few tables inside and outside. The food and service is wonderful, None of the parking issues of the closer-in Del Mar restaurants. And it doesn't have the so-called... More

This place knows what Italian is supposed to be. I am Italian, and their sauces and meatballs remind me of my Mother's and Grandmother's sauce and meatballs. In addition to the regular Italian dishes, they also have specials with fresh fish and other items the Chef adds to the daily menu. This is also a great place for lunch. I... More

I guess if I title a review that way, I have to say why I could know. I'm not Italian, but did live in Milan for several years and plugged in well to the cuisine while American Italian was checkered tablecloths and spaghetti spelled wrong. The first time I went to Trattoria Ponte Vecchio was a delight because they had... More

We have been to this restaurant before but we hadn't been in quite a while. The service at the beginning was okay but got worse and worse as the the evening went on. I think the problem is that they have a lot of takeout orders but don't have the staff to deal with it. So the staff is waiting... More

I was looking for a small and upscale (yet affordable) Italian restaurant close to our hotel and this one is a gem. We sat outside and had a terrific view of the mountains. The service was attentive and friendly and the food top notch. I had a delectable beef carpaccio for an appetizer and veal in a creamy saffron sauce... More

Went with family on a Sunday night. Restaurant offered 15% off food. Ordered fried calamari - serving size for $15 was extremely small and the calamari tasted old. Ordered special cannelloni dish - I felt pasta was way to thick and entire dish was under seasoned. Other family members food was under seasoned too - both pasta dishes. I would... More

We went to this restaurant last night with our granddaughter. Ordered Caesar salad and Eggplant Parm. Took over an hour to get our dinner which was undercooked and mushy. Other tables ordered after us and received their dinners before we did. Nice waiter but lousy food. We won't be back, ever.

Slipped in during there last hour of business and ordered Gluten- free penne pasta with marinara. It tastes like they make their own marinara sauce- so good! The place is cute, really. 11 tables inside and about a half dozen tables in the patio, in a fairly quiet area. The service was great- prompt. Nice place for a romantic date.

This is a very small and quaint Italian Restaurant. Make sure you do not make our mistake and try to go without a reservation. We went on a Friday night and it was busy. We understood it was our fault for not having called ahead for a reservation so we were happy to take a seat in the porch area.... More
