This was my first time eating authentic ramen and I got the shoyu ramen. It was a very tiny place and crowded but after a 10 minute wait we got a seat. The food was great. Avoid the lunchtime crowd though.

Been here a handfull of times. Pretty good tasting food. Reasonable prices. But after seeing the review regarding health concerns, doubtful I'll be back. Evidence of vermin. NO thanks. I definitely don't want to press my luck anymore until they clean up and have a clean inspection. :( And when I was there this past time, I did notice a... More

After I ordered a chashuu-men, I happened to notice an exchange between the manager and another customer in which she had mistaken his order and given him a chashuu-men instead of his chanpon. He had already started eating it, and put a gratuitous amount of togarashi (spicy powder). She brought the wrong ramen back to the kitchen to make it... More

I advise getting the mabo ramen (spicy), green onion ramen, gyoza and hot sake. The hiyashi chuka is also fantastic, but it is meant for a hot summer day because they are traditional japanese cold noodles. The service is great (people who work there are usually mother and daughter of the chef/owner). This is the best ramen place in costa... More

It is a shame that this is going to be a negative review, because I have had only good experiences up til my last lunch there, and therefore never had the motivation to find this and write a few good words. My wife and I had dined there ever since they first opened, replacing another Japanese restaurant. This one started... More

Best japanese noodles ever! Any noodle soup I have tried has not been disappointing. Try the gyoza...one of my favorites

I just went to Mentatsu yesterday after reading a positive review online, and it turned out to be a really bad experience. I ordered the chashumen, and my husband had the miso ramen. Neither were decent. The soup was very bland. The noodles were too soft. The bean sprouts were definitely not fresh. The so-called chashu seemed like overboiled slices... More
