This is a great restaurant when you're REALLY hungry! All the meals are served "family style" with a great big bowl of soup, pinto beans, salad, fries and potatoes au gratin to share! We love the petite cut ribeye, which is actually much bigger than the supposed 8 oz.! The garlic sauce is great on top. Be sure to try... More

Long time Basque restaurant. There is a regular dining room and for a great lunchtime (also for dinner)experience call a reserve a place or places at the boarder's table. Two long tables for lunch and a large room with long tables for dinner. The dinner 'bell' rings at noon and everyone files in with no spaces between people. There are... More

Hearty comfort food and lots of it. Starting with soup and ending with flan, everything was excellent. They have a unique sausage that they make in-house, lukina that doesn't disappoint. Also loved the veal roast and lamb shanks. We will return!

Best potato leek soup around. We love to go on potato leek soup day. It is served with sourdough bread and real butter. Yum!

Wholesome food, plenty of it and the fun of the long table out back is wonderful. The front bar is welcoming and the atmosphere and ambience is friendly. Parking is plentiful.

Great atmosphere and music and food. I went with friends to hear a band that was playing. Although I didn't have dinner we ordered light food to snack on and the prices were reasonable. Our servers were very friendly and quick to bring our orders.

A family friend always eats here and we visited the restaurant 20 years ago on his recommendations. We were not disappointed then or this April. With some knowledge of the Basque people we looked forward to meeting up here again. When we said we knew St Jean pm Porte and the village of Ispoure and mentioned the family name it stimulated... We have been coming here for years at the Boarders Table - good plentiful food and great people. This time we decided to try the dining room in the back as we were there too late for the family style meal. The soup was excellent - and hot - a perfect choice for a cold wet day. We both tried... When I was younger I use to go here, now I went back on a return visit, not impressed, lamb was way over cooked, small amount of the main course, prime rib was marginal, atmosphere was poor. will not return

Solid, home-like food. Good but not super pharncy. Somewhat uneven, desultory wait service. Meals include some good (but cold) bread, butter, a vegetarian soup, salad. Vegetables served homestyle. Might want to consider the lunches served border style with 50 people eating together at long tables. Chef believes in some serious garlic. Food with a Basque influence.
