Great place to have a casual fine dining experience. White table cloths, amazing food, but doesn't feel like a super stuffy dinner place. We enjoyed our 5th anniversary at Hoppe's and weren't disappointed. Will have to go back and try the abilone as they are...More

Same name, same decor, same nice service but…not the same Hoppe's. We hadn't been in this area for over 3 years and were unaware that Chef Hoppe had passed away until we opened the menu. Gone was the Red Abalone in Mango Hazelnut butter sauce...More

We celebrated our anniversary on a three-night stay in Cayucos and our anniversary dinner was at Hoppe's. We had eaten here many years ago because of the availability of abalone, which was in short supply at the time. Hoppe's has both an appetizer and entree...More

We have once a year returned to Hoppe in Cayucos for 15 years. We have had outstanding meals there, and have tried almost everything on the old menu, which is somewhat similiar to their current menu. However, I was disappointed this trip. The service was...More

Beautiful place for Sunday brunch. Four of us had a large table in the sunken garden surrounded by lots of flowers in bloom and butterflies. Food was good. Fixed price menu on Sundays. Seemed pricey at $30 but did have three courses (good choices of...More

Could not fault the food and service. Good quality of food and all home made. We went in May in low season and the whole resort was quiet as was this restaurant. Sitting in the restaurant felt like going back in time. The decor needs...More

Hi Annanewty, Thanks for your positive review. We appreciate your compliments to our kitchen and staff. Hoppe's is located in one of the oldest buildings in town, and you are correct that the decor is a little dated. We have plans for a renovation in...More

Hoppe’s Garden Bistro has been serving the highest quality Continental cuisine and the finest International and local wines, from our historic location in the heart of Cayucos, for over 13 years. Our team of professional, knowledgeable servers have devoted themselves to pampering our guests and delivering a sophisticated level of attentive service. The kitchen and bakery are abuzz early each morning as our chefs start their daily craft of making virtually everything by hand: breads, pizza dough, ice cream, cakes, pastries, stocks, sauces, pasta, smoked meats, sausages, cured fish – it all begins from scratch with our dedication to fresh flavors and creative seasonal cuisine.By the time Chef Wilhelm Hoppe opened Hoppe’s Garden Bistro in 2000, he was already recognized as one of the Central Coast’s most cutting edge chefs. His years in Morro Bay at Hoppe’s 901 and Windows on the Water won over the palates of many critics and the dining public. Chef Hoppe’s uncompromising use of the finest ingredients, skillful saucing and masterful plating won him respect as someone truly devoted to his passion. Chef Hoppe graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York and trained in Switzerland before settling here. His numerous accolades include Awards of Excellence from Wine Spectator and Le Cordon Bleu. Sadly, Chef Hoppe passed away in 2010.Today, Hoppe’s honors the man and his legacy: sourcing fresh, high quality ingredients, creating seasonally inspired flavors, and building long lasting relationships with growers, winemakers and patrons.
