Apong's Philly Steak
Located at 68444 Perez Rd Ste N 71800 California 111, Cathedral City, CA 92234 is located in a Strip mall off the corner of Cathedral Canyon Drive and Perez Road. This is a Pacific Islander owned restaurant that is well known not only for their Philly Steak platters and sandwiches but also for their fried chicken.
It is my go-to place for fried chicken. Each order is cooked after you order it, so there can be a wait for your food to be prepared, or you can call ahead and it will be ready for you once you get there. The chicken is nicely spiced and gently fried to a crispy finish. I have never had a piece of chicken I didn’t like at Apong’s.
There are tables and booth seating if you want to eat in. The hosts are always courteous and efficient. And the prices are reasonable.
The only items I don’t like are the biscuits, but that is just my taste.
If you are in the mood for some good chicken, don’t let the name fool you. Apong’s Chicken is Gooooood.

My Dr. friend from Jersey told me about Apong's being the best in the Valley. He was right.
I ordered the Classic with mushrooms and onions. It was tasty and satisfying. The staff is very pleasant. comfort food for this Guy.

We visited Apong's on the recommendation of a friend who lives locally and we were not disappointed. It's a very unassuming restaurant located next to a strip club and near a weed shop in Cathedral City. Lots of great menu options, very friendly staff/owners, and tasty food. Very crispy and tender fried chicken and the cheese steak went down very nicely. And the food was all prepared fresh while we waited. A good value for the cost. I recommend Apong's.

On family vacation in Palm Springs California, we saw a store front advertising (Philly Steaks). Being we are from Philly Pa., (home of the Philly Steak & Cheese Steaks), was drawn to the eatery to get some downtown tasty, back home flavor. Well, let me say this,
"there's no place like home", you can say Philly Steak, but what you really mean is Apong's Cathedral Steak. Their steaks are good, but in our taste buds, we were mouth watering for Philly Flavor.
