We had planned to return to Cantinetta Luca to enjoy the Tuscan style steak we had watched being cooked on a prior visit. When we ordered the steak, we were told by our server that the new chef had not yet chosen his "sides" for...More

We go to Carmel every year. One of our favorite places in the city. Took our friends and were not disappointed. Had a couple bottles of " The twins" and all had something different. Two split the big steak, one pizza, and one pasta bolognese....More

Limited menu with lots of pizzas. The small steak came with nothing but some arugula and was over cooked, the pork chop supposedly had polenta and vegetables but they were difficult to find, and the pasta crab was short on crab. The wine list is...More

Fun atmosphere, good food, friendly service. Wait staff are stretched a bit too far to give this place higher ratings. Food was very good. Caprese was flavorful and served at a great temperature to highlight the flavors. Bolognese was dark and luscious.

I believe I have only gone to Luca 2-3 times. My review is on the brief side. The decor and space very nice (open and airy), but the accoustics are pretty bad and it can be very noisy with not a lot of patrons in...More

Several people had recommended Cantinetta Luca so I made a reservation prior to arriving, knowing we would be hungry and tired on arrival. We were seated in a banquette, so close to other dining parties, I thought they should be adopted. There was no chance...More

It's a good idea to make a reservation. Tables are small and close together. The booth by the window are adequate for 2 people and would make a very squished fit for 4 people. Service was nice. Spaghetti was good but the portion size is...More
