Have eaten here before, but recently they have changed the menu. Had Buffalo carpaccio, mixed grill, pumpkin seed salmon, soup of the day, and the trio of sorbets. Couldn't have been happier with the food. Our server Patrice was great. Personable and had a wonderful way of keeping everything together.

Being an artist, the first thing that appealed to me was the decor and all of the art. I loved the ambience of this place. We ate in the bar and had their ribs. They were smoky and delicious and presented very artistically . I would have liked the barbecue sauce to be a bit less tart. But all in... More

So, this place is noisy, very noisy! Ordered New York Sirloin cut and waitress came back 10 minutes later and said "we are out of Sirloin". This does not seem possible, but I order a strip steak which I know can be tough, so I order it well done. Steak comes out medium rare/rare. So instead of waiting I take... More

We are sorry about the issues with the sirloin and then the strip steak. At times we do run out of items during dinner service and we try our best to keep everyone informed as soon as possible. We apologize that this happened and understand it would be disappointing, we value your feedback and will use it to improve our... More

I was told about this place by my brother-in-law whose father and uncle ate here back in the early 80's. I was thrilled when I learned that the smoked chicken with artichokes and potatoes that I'd ordered was one of the original recipes!! My husband had a special -Hawaiian Tambo - and both were delicious. The Margarita was the real... More

Ate here onnovernight stay to area. Very enjoyable atmosphere. Half price bottle wine night on a Monday but as driving couldn't take up this offer. Food was excellent and great value for money. Summary - if in the area go!

My wife and I had lunch twice at the Rio Grill. Both times, the overall experience was very good. We were seated quickly and the waitress and waiter were both knowledgeable and provided good service. The lunches were very tasty and well prepared with fresh ingredients. The menu was extensive enough to satisfy most appetites. The wine list was good... More

Found them on Open Table and really did enjoy our evening. Creative twist on traditional faire plus a few unique dishes. Loved the specials the best.

The food was absolutely delicious and prepared so wonderfully. The Castroville artichoke-marinated and fire roasted with sun dried aioli was scrumptious. The crispy calamari was cooked to perfection-not overdone. The crispy pork shank melted in your mouth. The desserts were sinfully delicious-without being too sweet and dense. The meal was fabulous! Definitely will go again when in the Carmel area!

We dropped in unexpectedly for a quick lunch, and found Rio Grill to exceed expectations. Service was very good, and entrees were of very high quality. In particular, a teenage in our party had a very limited range of options.....pretty much either chicken or grilled cheese. The grilled chicken children's plate was the best of our 7 day trip. Roasted... More

This establishment shares the same owners as Montrio and Tarpey's Road House in Monterey. Both are very good if not excellent restaurants. Unfortunately, Rio Grill is not on the same par.
