My wife and I dined on Monday in Justin Cogley's quaint gem. The food, service and attention to detail is exactly what you would expect at a top restaurant. We splurged and substituted the Wagyu beef and it was a great decision. We also shared a wine pairing and enjoyed everything. The staff is excellent and vey attentive. I have... More

Breakfast full of fun comfort food and fresh fruits and flavors. Dinner is an 11 course extravaganza.. Waiter and Chef and staff very friendly. Daughter was sick was chef prepared soup and rice for room service. Went in for wagyu beef upgrade ..worth it,, not cheap but on par with NY or SF high end places.. expect about $200/head before... A small, classy restaurant in an inn with tasting menu only ($150 without drinks. Some expensive “supplements” such was wagu beef. Two kinds of wine pairing offered). Each of about 8-10 courses came in very small portions, but some were outstanding, such as the caviar and asparagus. Others were OK but not outstanding. The service was very attentive and professional.... More

Grand Chef, Justin Cogley and Pastry Chef Yulanda Santos call this place home. The tasting menu they offered up to us was perhaps one of the finest dinners we've ever had anywhere and we've eaten dinner on multiple continents. A restaurant for "special occasions or celebrations" likely for most of us. Could I eat there every evening and have something... More

In my opinion most of the restaurants in Carmel disappoint. Perhaps it is because the menus cater to tourists and an older, unadventurous clientele. They remind me of the restaurants in Palm Springs. But Aubergine is an exception. Sure it is pricey. The tasting menu for 2 with the complimentary wine pairings and the 20% service charge came to just... More

This place was highly recommended but when we went in we were going for drinks and dinner. The service was so bad we just stayed for drinks then left.

Every now and then it's fun to splash out on a fancy gourmet experience. But this one was not one of those where you walk away feeling like the money was well spent. The food was tasty and a couple of the dishes were outstanding but too many of them weren't quite what you'd expect when you're paying this kind... More

I believe in fine dinning, but if your hungry this is not the place for you. All you get is just a bite of food. Tasty, yes, but I'm still hungry.

If you're looking for a highly-acclaimed restaurant that is formal...but cozy...then this is the place for you. Excellent food...wine....everything. Probably not what we were looking for...but certainly wouldn't want to discourage any one that wants a lovely romantic dinner.

The menu and the service is phenomenol. The menu was unique and refreshing. The wine pairings were superb as well. Definitely an expensive spot but so worth it for a special occasion.
