Four of us at at Dametra after searching reviews. We were not disappointed. Although we had to wait a few minutes at the bar for our table, we were treated with hummus and pita, plus over-filled glasses of our wine selection. The various lamb dishes were great. The family and kitchen broke out into extended Greek song and dance at... More

We eat at this restaurant every time we are in Carmel. The food is always excellent, the service superb, and the atmosphere very friendly and welcoming.

We had the best dining experience at Dametra's. Both our meals were delicious and fresh and the atmosphere was cozy with just the right amount of atmosphere! Halfway through we were entertained by dancing and guitar playing in the true Greek fashion. It's a good idea to make reservations as it is a very popular place!

First of all, they changed their sign so don't miss it looking for the name Dametra. It just says Mediterranean now. I went there with my husband for a great lunch in Carmel. We actually came from Monterey to eat lunch there. We ordered their appetizer titled flaming cheese, and were not disappointed. It was panfried feta cheese with a... More

I've been to Dametra twice on different trips-- lunch and dinner. Although I have to say on this last trip lunch turned into dinner. We just couldn't pass up all the great food. This is as close as you can get to a real Greek or Middle Eastern restaurant experience. Wonderful soups and salads, grilled and roasted lamb, spanikopita, baklava,... More

Ate dinner here 2 of the 4 nights we were in Carmel! Greek/Mediterranean/Turkish food doesn't get any better and the occasional singing and dancing, feel free to join in, just add an extra star to an already 5 star experience! The portions are very large and absolutely delicious, and the service is great, especially Daniel! You can't go wrong at... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience from the hearty / sincere welcome to the "come back soon" message as we departed. The service is impeccable. The lunch menu is quite varied and we thoroughly enjoyed the gyro and Bolognese spaghetti (the sauce is over the moon!). They are famous for their generous wine pours and continued that fine tradition with... More

We had a Turkish kebob platter, some crazy good cheese ravioli, English beer and California wine. All with Middle Eastern music in the background. It all worked!

We had lunch here on my birthday. The food was good, especially the dolmas. The babaganush could have been a little more lemony. The service was perfect. We loved the surprise of one of the cooks coming out of the kitchen to serenade us with a Mexican romance ballad. They don't take lunch reservation so get there early because they... More

I've had a hard time explaining to my girls about really good food and service, and why I'm happy when I feel like there is value in what we've eaten. Now they know. We visited on a weeknight, not knowing that reservations were suggested. The hostess/manager found us a table anyway. I'm so glad she did! Every single thing we... More
