Gayle's is an institution in this beach area. It has fabulous take. Wonderful roasted chicken potatoes and vegetables. There us a myriad of types if sandwiches. You can get whatever you want. The bakery is full of over the top pastries and good coffee. There are tables if you want to eat in. It is busy at lunch so factor... More

This is much more than a bakery. It is a casual sit-down or take out restaurant. That said, the breads and the pastries are unequaled. They make the best eclairs and croissants this side of the Atlantic. And the bread! Try the round sour dough: perfect crust and firm insides. There are standards on the menu including spit-roasted chicken and... More

My boys and I like to enjoy Gayles's once a week. The energy when you walk in is always buzzing with customers who are eagerly awaiting their delicious meal, or patrons mid-meal, engrossed in conversation with a friend or new acquaintance. Plenty to choose from between breakfast/brunch/lunch items each offering hot and cold options. Blue plate dinners served cold after... More

By far the best bakery for pie, pastries, cookies, cake, or just your sweet tooth. You'll absolutely love this place.

Take a number, place your order, and sit at a diner-type table or take your food with you. No table service but an excellent choice of prepared meals, sandwiches, and pastries. Also plenty of packaged food so you can stock up. Fresh ingredients, all food prepared on-site, friendly, efficient staff. Excellent choice for catering as well.

Came here several times for an early breakfast. Before Christmas, as expected the place was very chaotic. After Christmas it had settled down. If you are a first time visitor it's not clear how the place operates. But everyone takes a number, whether you're eating there or buying bakery products or takeout food. Then decide what you want and when... More

You have to be ready for the ordering experience when you come here. You take a number and then tell the staff who is helping you what you would like when your number is called. Seems easy. But if its busy, you have to navigate up and down the glass cases of food against all the other customers, which proved... More

We drove by Gayle's a couple of times and it was always packed. So we decided to stop for dinner one night. They have a huge selection of Deli items as well as delectable looking desserts from their Bakery. The sandwiches we got we're very good. I would definitely go again. Be aware once you enter, you need to get... More

It might seem chaotic, but it's actually incredibly efficient. Even when it's packed I'm generally out of there in under ten minutes. It's the best bakery in Santa Cruz County. Perfect for grabbing a bite to take to the beach. Don't forget the baked goods. Oh man. I'm drooling as I write this review. Yum!

I found out why, they have many customers, including me, and they are well organized inside. My everyday favorite is the French loaf - just the right texture and great taste. Then the eclairs followed by ginger cookies, and a Ficelle sandwiches to go. If they have the Ficelle with brie cheese, try it you can't go wrong. Just wish... More
