We came here for a Sunday evening dinner. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the salads; the kebabs were really good and the koobideh (meat dish in pomegranate sauce) was superb. The space is ample and quiet enough for a decent conversation. There is a wine list but very few choices were available. Maybe the place is scaling back (there... More

We were walking by and decided to have lunch. The fish (salmon) kabob was delicious and plentiful. I asked to have it with salad instead of rice, and the salad was also good. We ordered hummus to start, and it was a wonderful flavor. The service was pleasant and quick.

Terrible! Is that how Turkish coffee is made please for God's sake! I'm calling for you all Turks out there! Turkish entrepeneurs! Show these people what Tuskish coffee is supposed to taste. Food in general needs serious modifications!

We were in Berkely about 3 yrs ago and I remember the food was decent .We decided to visit this place during our trip to Berkeley again. How ever this time was a huge mistake . WORST food, dirty bathroom and poor service. Stay away from this restaurant. The meat was dry and yellow .The service was not good and we... More

I went for hopes of decent authentic Persian food. The beef and chicken combo dinner came with bread, onions, and tomato and rice but the rice portion was American portion (not enough by Persian standards) and the chicken was too chewy. I asked for some herbs (sabzi) which should have come standard with meal and I was told I'd have... More

My group had a wonderful experience dining at Alborz. The food was excellent - homemade and flavorful with unique spices. The owner was gracious and welcoming. And the baklava is not to be missed! I'd return in a heartbeat!

This is my family's go-to spot for Persian food. This are mostly consistent in their quality of foods. Their kabobs are really good. My brother and I always get the Alborz Plate. It has one skewer of Koobideh, one skewer of Joojeh and one skewer of Barg (fillet mignon) with two rice dishes. Great for two people.

Alborz is located near UC Berkeley. We were there during summer, so it wasn't too busy. Complimentary tortilla-like bread arrived quickly with raw onions and butter. The onions were very strong. Three of us had the kashk qasemi(roasted eggplant, mint, whey and fried onion) appetizer, which was ok. I had the khoresht bademjan(roasted eggplant with lamb shank served with a... More

We had a lunch there.Staffs were slow and they were not trained enough to know about persian food. Iranian lady who looked to be owner was polite but not intimate . As an American ,food was delicious but not for Iranian taste , it could be better .

My friend Reza invited me to join him for lunch at Alborz, and I'm glad he chose it. Nice atmosphere, in the heart of Berkeley, and tasty Persian dishes. Judging by the number of Farsi-speaking groups at the tables, it is popular with Persian-Americans--always a good sign.
