Good pancakes and standard eggs and sausages/bacon stuff. Good bakery. However, tends to be crowded and hard on parking. Yes, coffee is good. Noisy , well, because it's good and lots of customers. Try Fournee bakery next door, expensive but heavenly.

I have been eating at Ricken Aaron's diner for many years. I have never had a bad meal there. And I have had many memorable ones. I recommend it without hesitation. I also use Ann's catering service religiously. The selection is always great and the food is always out of this world in terms of quality and interest. Like the... More

Friends introduced me to Rick & Ann's Restaurant, their favorite breakfast cafe in Berkeley. A traditional breakfast and lunch menu is available, but there also are many interesting offerings. One of my friends had a beet & sweet potato hash with his egg dish. I enjoyed a gingerbread waffle - my first. It was delicious! I can see why this... More

The locals love this place, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, but the food okay but nothing special - it's hard to find anything on the menu that isn't strong on carbs.

I live near R&A's and eat there about eight times a year, especially when we have out-of-town guests. Recently we had an unexpected surprise. We had friends(paleo, gluten-free) from Amherst MA with us for lunch and their menu served them well. We arrived at 2:45PM for late lunch, they stop serving at 2:50PM, and had a lovely meal talking until... More

We have had breakfast at Rick and Ann's on at least a dozen occasions and there is no better place, no better breakfast in Berkeley. Located right across the street from the Claremont Hotel, it's a bit removed from the UC campus and downtown but the food and ambience make the trip worthwhile any time for breakfast or lunch. Great... More

Our daughter lives in Berkeley, we visit often and always try to have a breakfast at Rick & Ann's. During weekends the line can be quite long, however breakfast is served everyday until 3. So our suggestion is to sleep in, then have "brunch" at Rick & Ann's. I had a short stack of whole grain pancakes with a side... More

First of all, the ambiance and location are perfect. Located right below the Claremont Hotel with ample parking, but the food was mediocre. I had a cup of curry lentil soup, which arrived after a ten minute wait, at the same time as my my ginger waffle. Maybe I should have asked for the soup first, but it seemed like... More

Awesome place! We had breakfast here after reading reviews and it did not disappoint. Erica's french toast is a must! Will definitely go back when we come back to town.

My husband and I stopped in Berkeley on our way to Sonoma. We stayed at the Claremont Hotel but wanted something more home style for breakfast. I checked Trip Advisor and found Rick & Ann's. We waited longer than the 15-25 minutes we were told but whatever we were on vacation. We had the Eggs Benedict and my husband had... More
