Just had our first meal at The Muddy Duck, and it won't be our last. Lovely food in a great setting. Not cheap but a real treat.
We had high hopes for the MD following reviews by friends. So we turned up for our Sunday Lunch which was a birthday and celebrating our son being home for an extended holiday. The bar staff and waitresses were excellent and we were really looking forward to our meal. It went downhill once we arrived in the dining room. They... More
Dear ChristineM1344IE Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We are really happy to hear that you found the service during your visit to be excellent, this is one of our top priorities here at The Muddy Duck so it’s great to see you appreciated our efforts! However, it sounds as though we fell short of... More
Had friends come to stay from Kent & Hampshire so wanted to take them somewhere nice. The Muddy Duck didn't let us down as per usual. Great atmosphere - Great food made for a really enjoyable evening. Staff are a credit to the owners and went above the call of duty to to ensure we had a night to remember.... More
We visited for my sons birthday in August and again in October for mine. The restaurant is beautiful and both the food and service is excellent. The menu choice is very good and the food is sourced locally. I would highly recommend a visit to this lovely place.
I revisited the MD with my GF for a romatic lunchtime date. We were not dissapointed, we had a relaxed drink at the bar, bar staff were friendly. We went through to our table in the comfortable restaurant. The staff were friendly and informed and we never felt rushed to order. We had a combination of fish dishes, which were... More
The right place where enjoying a pint of real ale or having dinner in a charming atmosphere. Traditional and creative meals are properly blended. Excellent but expensive wine cellar.
From the minute we entered I knew we were going to have a lovely lunch. The place is filled with happy people! Lovely warm welcoming atmosphere in the (packed) bar. Had lunch in the dining room which was delicious. Highly recommend the Muddy Roast (both beef & lamb) which was cooked pink and perfect. The staff are friendly and attentive.... More
After reading some reviews I did wonder what the standard here would be like. Our experience was entirely positive. A very warm welcome. Helpful and attractive staff. Food was delicious with Rack of Lamb quite superb.Would definitely go again.
We enjoyed our meal here. The pub is set in rural Oxfordshire and can accommodate all sizes of parties. There are two menus, one for the bar and the other for the restaurant. We are in the restaurant and there were several choices of meat, fish and steaks as well as vegetarian options. The starters range from £6-£10 and the... More

To the owners, either let people book or not, don't have a secret waiting list that some can book over the phone and others can't! I am sure you are probably not aware of this, but the treatment of customers by the ladies in the bar is poor (I say ladies as the nice young chap usually behind the bar, has on every occasion been excellent beyond any expectation)
Why the heck have you taken all those delicious "nibbles", eg breaded mushrooms, sticky sausages and chorizo, hazelnut houmous off the menu?
