No words can express the experience really, but I will do my best. It was a Sunday night, and my friend and I were greeted by a very handsome, well dress gentleman with the brightest smile I’ve ever seen. He was warm and went out...of his way to take special care of us the entire evening! The outdoor patio area was adorned in Paris lights setting a romantic mood. The atmosphere was lively and bustling. All around you huge plates of the most beautiful lobsters I’ve ever seen were being served. First impressions couldn’t have been better. They were busy, but service was prompt and attentive. We had ceviche, and grilled octopus as an appetizer. It did not disappoint! Ceviche was crisp, fresh, and delicious! Octopus had mouth watering flavor and was not chewy like others I’ve had … surprising to say the least, and set the stage beautifully for the main course of lobster and paella! The lobster was tender and delectable cooked to perfection. The paella was served in a family style cast iron pan, and although I was extremely full, had me going back for bite after bite! My friend and I decided to drink our desert, at the recommendation of Johnny, (the handsome well dressed bright smiling aforementioned gentleman) who made the best mojito I have ever tasted! Sunday night is also Karaoke night, so the drinks kept flowing, and people were singing, which made for such a fun evening. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were top notch. Johnny and all the staff at Herman 311 will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I can not wait to return! This is a must try for anyone visiting Punta Cana. The absolute best seafood in Bavaro! We were referred by Rene at RIU Macao. Thanks Rene. First, Donald, our server was very Professional and Courteous. The attention to detail was top notch. We had the 4lb Lobster & 2lb Snapper. Food was seasoned, very tasty...and more than we could finish. We cant wait to visit again. Just come out to Herman 311 for a great meal. A Must try.More

We ate here one early evening in mid-February 2023. The service was good and the food excellent. My wife had the fresh catch of the day (grilled red snapper) and I had the seafood pasta. Both dishes were excellent and the helpings towards generous. Probably...the best meal we had during our visit to the DR. The meals cam ewith a garlic toast starter and another small starter dish. The prices were not particularly inexpensive but the quality meant that we were delighted with our meals. Would definittely recommend and would be happy to eat there again.More

Food was excellent. Mango ceviche was amazing. We were desperate for decent food because the Occidental Punta Cana (all inclusive where we were staying) food was awful. We walked there from the Occidental. The local people were friendly despite us being obvious tourists. The staff...at Herman 311 was friendly and attentive. Beautiful outdoor seating and great wine selection. Well worth the $.More

This place is fantastic! Epic wine and cigar list, a very expansive menu that is truly stellar, and the staff was superb. It was phenomenal customer service that provided a truly elevated dining experience. We ate an 8 pound lobster and it was remarkable, so...was the paella. The ambiance inside & out was beautiful. We can hear as our last dinner in Dominican Republic and it was the best decision we could make. Simply amazing food and super accommodating and friendly staff. The Lambi is a must try! And don’t forget the flan de coco!

The food was good. My wife had the fish which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My seafod paella was just ok, but every entree is not gonna be to my liking. Donald and the young guy with the dimples provided amazing service. The icing on...the cake was the vibe! Two others in the place had birthdays as well so it was very festive. Last but not least we were seated outside, the weather was nice and the DJ at the store directly across had a phenomenal playlist that matched and enhanced the vibe. The best food i’ve had in DR so far, and the waiters were amazing.kept asking if i needed a refill. we got the garlic shrimp, was a little less than i excepted but tasted amazing!

We were staying at an all-inclusive, but we wanted to experience some local culture and cuisine for our anniversary dinner, so we looked at the top restaurants in the area. Herman311 kept coming up in my searches, so we gave it a try. The host,...Jonny, was AMAZING - the rest of the staff was very nice and cordial, but Jonny went out of his way to make us feel special and welcome. Any restaurant with a host like Jonny will be successful. We were advised that all the food we wanted would be prepared to order, there is nothing pre-made there. We ordered 3 appetizers; shrimp cocktail, ceviche and lobster salad. The also comped us a small pre-app of pear with red wine and bleu cheese. All of it was amazing and fresh tasting with nice presentation. Jonny told us the appetizers were "small plates", but we found them to be way more than that. our main courses were garlic shrimp and paella, with yucca fries and Mangu (the mashed plantain dish, i think that's what it's called). I ate so much, I couldn't possibly have fit another bite in there. But I had to, because they brought out a cake -- A FULL CAKE -- for our anniversary. We ended up having a little bit, but we shared the rest with a neighboring table and the staff. The bill came to $181 US, which was about what I expected to spend, and I tipped in USD cash because the credit card machine didn't offer me an option to include tip -- if you appreciate good service by tipping well, make sure you bring some cash with you! I tipped 15-20%, and I definitely would have tipped more, had I had more in my pocket! Herman311 was a wonderful experience, and although the food at our resort has been good, there's nothing better than a fresh meal prepared to order on the spot, served by warm, wonderful people.More

Waited 20 minutes for glass of water upon arrival, another mins for bread, and this continued the entire time we were there for dinner. Constantly waiting. For food, for water, for the bill, for anything. These are the very basics, we shouldn’t have to ask...for any of this when out dining. Food was good, nothing special TBH, but way overpriced in comparison to the service. For $278 NOT including tip, we expected a much better meal and experience. I pay less at Ruth’s Chris for a phenomenal meal and service every time. Our server seemed nice but very overwhelmed. We felt bad for him…he appeared to be taking care of several tables, as well as the bills. They were clearly not well equipped to take care of a Valentines Day dinner crowd which is truly questionable when you own a restaurant. Would not recommend unless you eat before you go and they decrease the menu pricing.More
