Good service, good food at a fair price in a very nice setting. Pub food as you would expect it with no pretensions.

Living on Kings Hill, it can be a nice walk out to the North Pole in neighbouring Wateringbury on a fine day. We took the opportunity to head out there on Good Friday. We arrived slightly before the pub opened, which was fortunate as the place was heavily booked and we secured one of the few remaining tables. We had... More

Can't rate the food didn't get that far. Arrived at 8.35 for an 8.30 reservation for 8 people - due today to the road being closed which, as unfamiliar to the area had no prior knowledge. Very snooty "welcome" grumbling your late, I'm going to have to rush you. Took us into the restaurant, turned the lights on "as there's... More

Have been here twice now with friends. Lovely atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, great food. If you're looking for well cooked food, this is the place to go. They even accommodated our healthy changes as we didn't want the usual chips.

We came here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and will definitely be back. We arrived at just gone 12 midday and it was already very busy so maybe an idea to book if there are a few of you. We picked a day when it was pouring with rain so didn't get to sample the outdoor space but inside... More

Found this place by pure chance Very nice freshly made sandwich lunch, ham tasted home cooked and proper granary bread with salad - chips that I didn't really were far too tempting as they were also freshly made and nicely chunky. Bar team very helpful and efficient. Clearly popular with regulars and other locals - their cooked lunches looked and... More

I was staying in the premier inn just at the bottom of the hill, looked at the menu for adjoining pub and also had a look in the restaurant ... didn't want to eat here, food looked poor and no atmosphere so went on trip advisor and found The North Pole. Lovely atmosphere very welcoming, it's quite hard being alone... More

The North Pole has been a pub for many years but the restaurant is a modern addition. The restaurant is attractive and comfortable, there is an extensive menu plus a specials board. Portions are large and no doubt are considered great value by the restaurant's target market. We prefer smaller portions and find "large" a bit of a challenge. The... More

I spent a quiet evening with family friends this week. It was my first visit and quite a drive from where I live. My first impression was what a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was beautiful. There was a log burner alight with two great wing back leather chairs to curl up on in front of it. Fairy lights... More

We came here last Sunday for the Carvery and we were not disappointed !! The choice of Meat was excellent and all the Vegetables were so fresh and hot. The best bit though was the Gravy !! As I am from up North I always dread having gravy or asking for gravy when visiting the south !! So I was... More
