We went and it was closed. We went and it was closed. What more do you want me to say? We even asked our driver to ask other drivers, they all said it was closed.

We came from Mararikulam Beach to visit the shiva temple next door as there was a festival going on. Our taxi driver advised us about this local small restaurant and we were not disappointed. All the food is freshly made ( we had a thali...) very tasty and plenty of variety. The best food I had since we arrived in Kerala. Next morning we came back to the temple and hoped that Granma would be open.....it wasn’t but the owners cooked for us anyway, a traditional putty...yummy. I can only recommend to everyone who wants to eat in a traditional place where food is made with love.More

We arrived at this restaurant having read the reviews and were initially nonplussed. A scruffy little restaurant with very basic seating and harsh lighting. However the food was delicious. There was no fixed menu we asked for one fish curry and one vegetarian meal. The...food was freshly cooked and every dish was great. There were about five dishes with the vegetarian meal and a couple of extra ones with the fish. We really enjoyed it. Well worth a 25 minute wait. Would visit again if we were here longer.More

We ate here a couple of times in December and really enjoyed the food. There is no menu, the host just came out and asked what we liked. We told them to surprise us and weren't disappointed. It was delicious, cheap and the host brought...out a few small complimentary extras for us to try at the end. On our second visit, it was a little late and there were no taxis/autos passing so the host jumped on his scooter and tracked someone down for us. Thank you!More

While staying at Marari Beach, we had 3 dinners at Granma- all of which were stunning. A very simple setting for truly delicious home cooked food served with the warmest hospitality- a true gem of an experience each time! Shaji and his family went above...and beyond- helping us out when our son was unwell ( nothing to do with their food). Extremely kind people as well as great food!!! They also put a great deal of effort into sourcing high quality local produce which is great to hear. Definitely recommended for an authentic and heartwarming experience!More

Shaji and his family could not have more accolades given to them. During our 5 day stay in Murari beach we were lucky enough to be recommended this amazing restaurant. It is without an exaggeration that the food being served is the best our adult...family has eaten in India ever (3 extensive trips). The thalis are full of flavour, with each curry and chutney having its own distinct and gorgeous flavour. The prawns were cooked to perfection in a sauce I will continue to savour in my memories for a VERY long time. The sea bream - specially sourced by Shaji, was absolutely magnificent. I have never had such soft and flavourful fish that had been cooked with such care and affection. To go even further - this family cares about their customers like their own kin. I was incredibly sick one of the nights I was in murari. Shaji organised and TOOK me to a late night doctor (incredible doctor) and then drove and stayed at the hospital while I was being looked after. This man and is wife are modern day saints and his kindness to strangers is a belief system I want to carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you Shaji and your family for the most wonderful culinary and human experience I have experienced in years. I cannot wait to be back again - I hope the prawns will be waiting!More

We visited Granma three times. Two dinners and a lunch. Nothing but delicious food and absolutely fantastic people running the place. This is hospitality and cooking at its best. Thali, masala dosa, pickles, local fish, parathas and more. Good, honest, local food and just a...15 minute or a short ride from the beach. Most definitely worth it.More
