Food is fresh and made to order. They have a glass showcase of the fresh seafood available. Many of the cold dishes and Sushi are prepared right in front of you. When ever I am in Cabarete this is a daily stop for me .. Great food and excellent service .

Yamazato is located in a modern strip mall not far from the Millenium Resort and Spa, where we stayed. It is located next to Gordito's Tex Mex (which is also good). We happened onto the restaurant by chance and came back 3-4 times for lunch and dinner. The food was always fresh, the dishes beautifully presented and the price very... More

We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed our food. The staff are friendly and the food is great. Tiny air-conditioned dining room, but with more seating outside. Closed on Monday.

We love this place and go there often for lunch and occasionally dinner. Service is good and the food delicious. Not exactly cheap but the lunch specials are a great value.

We were pleasantly surprised to find outstanding Japanese food in Cabarete. The sushi rolls were beautifully presented and great tasting as well. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. If your in Cabarete and enjoy Asian food, don't miss Yamazato.

First off, I'm a vegetarian, so this is one of the spots that I always hit when I'm up in Cabarete. Really weird when the best Pad Thai you've had on the island is up in Cabarete at a Japanese restaurant, but that's how it goes. Not much in terms of vegetarian sushi options, but the place is consistent and... More

We went there for dinner the other night cause the Chinese place FCUK Wok is closed. Service was fast and friendly, we ordered Wan Tans, Teriyaki Chicken and Pad Thai. We even got an amuse gueule which was very tasty. Portions are quite large, the food was fresh, hot and really good. Really nothing to complain. Keep in mind to... More

Everything I had was good, but sometimes not exactly as pictured or expected. I would try other things there but you cannot expect to get authentic Japanese food in this country.

Finally! Edible sushi on the North Coast! Not just edible: wicked good! We were starving when we got there and pounced on the bitsy oysters with peppers & tobiko. We ordered one of the 28-pc grandes and some tempura, a small salmon sashimi. And the green papaya salad (more Thai than Japanese, so with a leeeetle beeet spicier kick than... More

Tucked away in Plaza Ocean Dream, Yamazato enjoys a reputation for serving the finest Asian cuisine on the north coast. Those in the know, say it is "the spot" for Sushi in the D.R.!! Our handy location with a beautiful outdoor patio and fountain as well as the ample parking, makes it one of the better off beach locations in Cabarete. Enjoy the exceptional talent of chef LAOSAENG CHAIYAWAT (Yong) who has more than 15 years experience in Bangkok, Thailand and Haifa, Israel. Immerse yourself in the authentic cuisine of Asia. From classic Japanese sushi dishes to delicious Thai stir fries, everything is sublime and one visit is simply not enough. This fall our LUNCH SPECIALS changes with new offerings of classic Japanese dishes including Yaki Soba and Kai Su Don.
It is the philosophy of Yamazato, to blend various Asian cuisines and constantly surprise! Another element that distinguishes Yamazato is the use of only the freshest of ingredients, many picked the same day from our organic garden.
Our staff is an extraordinarily friendly bunch, as welcoming and helpful to first time visitors as they are to regulars. Eating out is one of life's greatest joys. At Yamazato it's about the whole experience, the setting, the service and most importantly, what's served up before you. Yamazato never ceases to surprise and amaze. With so many interesting dishes on the menu, it's hard to narrow down your choices but help is on hand. The super friendly waiters and Sushi Bar chef's are more than willing to share their suggestions. Yamazato is not only about the mouth watering food, the delightful courtyard with its lovely fountain is a beautiful setting for dining al fresco during the cooler months and when the heat proves too much you can take refuge in the air conditioned and authentic Japanese ambiance inside.
For a great lunch, try our delectable "bento boxes", in each compartment you'll find a different treat. It's an exceptional value for your money. If you don't want to get into your car and drive to Cabarete, Yamazato will bring its culinary delights right to your home with free delivery in the Cabarete area. What better way to spend a beautiful Caribbean evening, dining on your terrace and enjoying Yamazato's wonderful Asian cuisine.
