Excellent Paella and Seafood. Great Sangria. Superb Service. A good place to enjoy lunch or dinner in Caracas!

Restaurant has a good selection of sea food and fish, but the suggestion of the maitre on a Cod Fish was just terrible. The cod was served with a lot of skin and bones and too much sauce. Sine the payment was made with an international credit card just this fish had a price of $80.00 (eighty dollars). Do not... More

Castañuela in Caracas is to meet people, have a drink. Before it was a place for selected people; n ow you can find mostly people from the government political party. No atmosphere anymore. It is expensive for Venezuelans - only people from Chavez party can afford it. If you change US $ at the black market rate ( Bs 800... More

Love Castanuela, their octopus stew and cappacio are my favorites just as done in Mexico. Very good lobster when in season and absolutely love the complimentary fish tea!

Have not been here for several years... This was one of the "old" Spanish restaurants in Caracas. Service is pretty good and they have enough staff. The place is clean and restrooms are also quite clean!valet prking and well located in Las Mercedes District. Now food... Here is where things changed. Our empnada gallega was heated in a microwave! Unacceptable!... More

the arroz a la marinera is no longer as good. tocinillo continues to be delicious. looks like it is now the current new rich politicians place to gather, as it is tremendously expensive.

I ordered the seafood rice before leaving home to the restaurant, so arriving half an hour later and sit at the table, I just waited ten minutes to enjoy it. Upon arrival I ordered Galician octopus, bread with garlic and white wine sangria. Dessert cheese. Espresso. Execelente quality and quantity. Busy but friendly atmosphere. Acceptable prices.

First time at La Catanuela and like many such experiences it was a little awkward. The timing was off, Good Friday with every restaurant booked heavily, but we got in early - 6.00. However this wasn't early enough and we were shown to the cavernous second floor (the function room) which lacked aplenty in decor and atmosphere (downstairs was kicking!).... More

This is definietly one of the best restaurants in Caracas. It is pricey, but the food and ambience are just exquisite. Service is also quite good, which is not all that common in Venezuela.

I have been there during my business trip with colleagues. The sea food soup (sopa de mariscos) was amazing, as well as churasco de mero with garlic sauce. Unfortunately they did not have lobster that date, I understood it was a very popular. We also drank white wine - trio, Chardonnay was brilliant. Recommended for visiting!
