7 adults and 3 children arrived to a warm welcome. Chicken liver pate and Leek and Potato soup starters were home made and tasty. Followed by the most enormous platefuls of roast beef with all the trimmings and proper homemade gravy. Good choice of vegetables too. Puds were a bit more mediocre- probably bought in. Good choice of real ales.... More

We organised a surprise birthday lunch for my 85 y.o. father. The owners were very friendly and made our family feel most welcome. Our chosen dishes were delicious and the portions generous. We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere in front of the fire, just perfect to savour the excellent ales! Will visit again soon.

This tiny inn is tucked away in the small village of Aberedw off the main valley of the River Wye, near Builth Wells. Craig and Jo are brilliant hosts and serve the most enormous portions you could wish for. A wide range of starters, mains and desserts, together with tasty snacks satisfy all. I challenge anyone to finish their Full mixed... More

I was in a party of 20+ women having prebooked following a visit to Abby Cwm Hir. The pub was cosy, warm, with a welcoming fire. Owner and staff very friendly with lots of "banter" between us. The bar was full of locals, walkers, dogs, children - a fabulous atmosphere. We were in the dining area which was bright.. Menu was... More

Ate here whilst on holiday nearby. Amazing find. The landlord was very welcoming and extremely helpful. The meals were reasonably priced, well cooked, tasty and excellent value for money. Doggy bags were taken home as portions are huge. Well worth a visit.

Popped here for lunch today, i had bacon baguette with chips and salad which was so nice, lovely bacon. My husband had roast beef baguette. He took one bite of the roast beef one and said it was so good so I had the other half, to say it was amazing is an understatement. The beef was so tender and... More

The first impression as you enter the bar is that of a friendly hostelry. Mine host Craig and his wife Jomarie were very welcoming and attentive The food on offer was of excellent quality and the servings were more than adequate. My wife had Scampi with peas and chips, to die for and a small salad with dressing. I had... More

Been here a few times now and everything we have eaten has been really beautifully cooked and probably the best Sunday lunch we have ever eaten also there is always a very well kept barrel or two of real ale always on.

Really nice proper pub! Really friendly owners and very helpful with tasters of real ale. Good menu with plenty of choice and a very pleasant surprise to have 'proper' chips. Very generous portions of good quality food. Hope to visit again when in the area next
