About
Situated in Coastal Barmouth, this tastefully renovated old Natwest bank is home to Megan and Ryan’s long held passion to open their own restaurant. Now into their third year, they pride themselves on serving great food in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The Bank brings a contemporary venue to Barmouth serving an inventive menu of locally sourced seasonal ingredients, such as Shell Island Lobster & Coed Y brenin Venison. A well-balanced wine list and a tempting selection of cocktails are on offer to complement. They are open for dinner from 6pm. Booking ahead is always encouraged.

I ate here with my partner on a Saturday night, the restaurant was full and had a lovely buzzing atmosphere. The menu is varied full of meat & vegetarian options but concise, it was a struggle to choose our dishes as they all sounded amazing!...The staff were so welcoming and really accommodating especially as I’m coeliac, most dishes could be adapted and they even had gluten free bread (for bread & oil) nothing was too much trouble which made me feel so welcome. The food was fantastic, I don’t think we could have eaten it fast enough. Drinks menu was great, with lots of good wine & cocktails to choose from. Would highly recommend The Bank and can’t wait to visit again.More

Under current Covid social distancing rules, the Hosts had achieved much to provide an excellent eating experience. It is a high ceilinged, brightly lit, ex-bank. Booking is obligatory to give the staff time for inter client sanitising. Notwithstanding this, we enjoyed our visit.

We arrived a touch early but were greeted by really friendly attentive service. A simple explanation that we would order some drinks whilst the earlier diners were served by the kitchen, which was absolutely fine and in a very short time we serviced with some...exquisite food - I had Scallops and then Pork Belly which was lovely. Great evening, really enjoyed our visit. thank you.More

Food was delicious but we were cheekily overcharged for drinks - and when queried there was no apology, the extras were just removed from the bill. Looks as if this might be common practice as a couple on another table had to query their bill....Kind of spoiled a decent meal.More

Friendly staff and really nice food. Decided to treat ourselves to a 3 course meal and there was a well thought out and executed vegan option for each course. The wine list had which wines were vegetarian clearly marked. Worth going to for a treat.

I had my misgivings about eating here as i am a bit of a fussy eater and my wife booked it without looking at the menu. The food was absolutely superb from starter to main course and the service was attentive without being to fussy....We would highly recommend a visit .More

Was lucky enough to get a cancellation as restaurant was fully booked all weekend. The food was absolutely delicious, had the herb crusted cod & duck stir fry. Lovely restaurant. Can't wait to go again.

We had a stay booked in Barmouth and they recommended this location to eat. We had booked in advance and it was a good job we did. They had to turn away people who just turned up expecting a table. It was a nice place,...tables well spaced and good Covid precautions in place. It is not huge but was a nice place to have a meal. The menu selection was limited and may not suit all so worth checking in advance. The food was very good quality and tasty and the wine of good quality. Service was very good and attentive. Well worth a visit if looking for something a bit different.More

Booked to eat here as the building was an old Bank, part of a chain that I'd worked in! The food and service were excellent, I had the lobster which was amazing!

More of an adults fine dining restaurant but it would depend on your child’s age I guess.
