Worth noting there’s nothing like this in the area of Cardigan / St Dogmeals. It’s a unique food experience and the staff all seamed nice. The pizza is good but not incredible (could do with more topping options on the menu) The sides were lacking...(could do with some fries / dips / more interesting deserts on that menu) Solid selection of interesting local ales on tap though. In the tipi itself the open fire and shared dining areas creates a good cosy vibe and atmosphere. The cabins are a bit isolated (probably a leftover from Covid) but the booths closer to the bar are a good spot too. Overall, like what this place is trying to do.More

Just gonna get to the nitty gritty. Like a lot of places they ask you to order via the QR code that is on each table. We placed our order and my main gripe is that I could not remove the service charge, which in...this country I believe is still optional. It may have been I was doing something wrong but others also did not know how to remove this charge. Now while I will tip for good service, the UK, unlike the USA has a minimum wage that you can survive on. I absolutely disagree that this should be charged at the order stage. I find this to be totally unacceptable and on this occasion would not have left a tip for the slow lack of service we had. 1. You have to get your own drinks from the bar area. We also had to clear the table of glasses as well. 2. The food took forever to arrive. We did have some items quicker but wanted everything together. These fresh pizzas should only take around 2 mins to cook after the prep has been done so why it took almost an hour I don't know. We were told they were short staffed but we should have been told of the wait on arrival. The pizzas when they came were tasty but while I have had worse I have also had better too. Will I go back. Probably not. Been there and done it now. Dont know what all the hype is about. Must be a young person thing lol. Just think they need to let customers know if there is a wait.More

So, based on the reviews we came here, pizza's were average at best but it was the service that let it down. We were sat and told we had to order on our phones via a scanned code, on asking if we could order inside...with drinks etc we were told 'no'. Annoying but we did, place the order and then go inside to order the drinks face to face? As we were leaving we heard a staff member tell someone that ordering inside was not a problem- that just meant that the person who sat us could not be bothered with people ordering inside. Would we return- no nor recommendMore

Location. Fantastic, just on the edge of the river. Venue: Tipi with open fire pit or little open cabins with infra red heating: brilliant. Food: Best pizza I have ever had. Thin with plenty of topping. We had a starter and main; you will not...go home hungry. Drink: Good well stocked bar with local Gin. Staff: Friendly and helpful. Not afraid to chat and advise you. Atmosphere: Music; not too loud. A warm happy place, people chatting - loved it. This establishment caters for all eaters.More

Fantastic and unusual setting,- lovely, warm, friendly staff and great food! My friend and I were so pleased that we came across this great restaurant for our evening meal on a coastal walking holiday. Beautiful setting right by the river. We chose a spot inside...the Tipi - kept warm by the central log- burning open fire and additional heaters overhead. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. The pizzas were excellent as were a selection of starters and a fab mixed salad. Beautiful, tasty, well-made decaff coffee to round everything off. The next day we revisited in late afternoon sunshine, to enjoy another delicious coffee- this time on benches looking out over the river. We would highly recommend and would eat here again if ever in the area.More

We came as a big family group, 4 or 5 seperate bills to sort, all made super easy by the ordering system. The service was super fast, and the pizzas were about as good as I've ever had. As for the garlic bread, it's to...die for! Sadly we had plans for our evening meal, or I'd have dived in on more of the sides.More

We have visited a number of times this summer, each time the staff have been welcoming and the pizzas fantastic. The pizzatipi is a real asset to Cardigan. We prefer a Riverside booth on a sunny day and a barside booth when the weather is...a little less favourable. Diolch.More

We enjoyed our visit. Staff are attentive and courteous. The ingredients used were good. The house salad was very tasty, but a tad too much dressing- a shame as the leaves themselves are full of flavour and were ruined by too much dressing. Normal gluten...pizzas themselves seemed really good. The gluten free, charged at the same price are tiny in comparison- not great. This isn't clear at the point of ordering and not in line with other restaurants who offer gluten free pizzas (even the chain ones get this right!!) The potato cakes, again, nice, but dressed in salt and drenched in a sauce... unsure as to why. All in all, it averaged out well. Images = gluten free vs. normal pizza. If you eat gluten free, I'd go elsewhere or make your own !!More

Return visit - liked being able to visit the bar and the food was good, especially the garlic bread. Wish they would not burn the pizza so much though and the staff weren't warm. There was less atmosphere this visit and I can't put my...finger on why.More

We were greeted upon arrival by a very friendly hostess who offered to move us from the Tipi table we’d booked to a booth due to it being too hot in there (it was a bit of a scorcher day). The table we were seated...at was perfect and our Basset Hound, Colin, settled quickly. The menu and concept was explained well i.e. scan your QR Code and order you food first and then pop up to the bar to grab your drinks. For those moaning about this system, I think you’re completely missing the point of such a venue. I wouldn’t expect to order from a fining dining restaurant via QR code, but for a pizza courtyard, it lent itself well and allowed for speedy service. There were also plenty of customer service touchpoints such as arrival, the two meal check-in’s and at the bar and on each occasion the team were very friendly. Also, we didn’t have to wait around for bills etc. at the end of the meal. Pizzas were done really well and the starters were excellent too. My only small niggle, were the cocktails (I had an Aperol spritz) came in quite small glasses for £9 each. Overall, we really liked the vibe here – It was the only place on the Sunday night in Cardigan with any life and atmosphere about it. We’ll certainly be back on our next visit.More

For rustic vibe read (very) rough and ready and that includes very poor customer service, in particular by reception staff. My guests were early and told initially that I had not booked and when I arrived I was simply pointed to their table. Nobody takes...you to a table or personally explains the system but a menu card is thrust into your hand. For drinks you have to go to the bar to fetch and pay separately but for food you have to scan a QR code, order online and pay in advance include your personal details (email, phone, postcode – all of which are requested in advance online for your booking anyway …). After 15 frustrating minutes of the system not accepting AMEX, I went to the front desk and was told in no uncertain terms that the system was explained on arrival to my guests (but not to me…) Also that the staff were there to help, not to be complained to and that I should not be frustrated and angry or point at the menu (when asked the third time for my order). Meanwhile it was a cold day and the patio heater above our table was not working. Eventually we were given permission (we had to ask) to move to the next door (empty) table. Two sharing salads appeared on tin plates and we were asked if we wanted cutlery (as if … how else do you eat salad, especially one that includes a stinging nettle?). The pizzas were fine but we had to ask for cutlery, plates and napkins. The toilets are well, rustic and the dryer did not work. Overall impression poor. The reception staff need serious training in terms of hospitality etiquette. Customers are there to be served for pleasure not simply tolerated or scolded. Studied, cool indifference and sullen pointing to menus and QR codes is no substitute for a warm welcome.More
