Shouldn’t be serving food! 2 flat whites, a jacket potato and a pulled pork roll - what could go wrong? EVERYTHING! This was a less than half empty pub at lunch time, mid week and by no means busy. 1. No idea what a flat...white was - ended up with 2 latte’s 2. Food came 50 minutes after ordering 3. Rock hard potato, plastic cheese and a round of red onion 4. Complained - took an eternity to get money back 5. No apology Find somewhere else to eat from the numerous other pubs and eateries - this place is really bad, shame I had to give it 1/5, if zero was an option it would have represented this place better. Absolutely Shocking!More

I and my other half stopped for lunch and the staff were friendly and efficient - especially the young lad who unfortunately I didn't get the name of but it was a Thursday lunchtime! I had the best ploughman's that I'd had for years -...pubs seem to have forgotten how to make this wonderful pub staple. As a veggie they obligingly switched out the ham for quiche. If I knew where they bought their version of Branson I'd be stocking up on a year's worth. My husband had a pork and cider pie and said it was delicious. Again they obligingly switched garden peas for mushy peas. Great experience - would highly recommend.More

So we asked about the the different options and placed our order. We were then told that we couldn't have the pie as it had not defrosted yet, and that there was no lasagne either. So we looked again and were told that the soup...wasn't available either. Decided on a burger and creamy pasta dish. The burger had bacon on that looked as though it had been cooked days ago and reheated in a microwave and it was plastic cheap cheese and the pasta dish wasn't even edible. It arrived missing the chicken and the sauce had split, the bowl had a good inch or more of oil in the bottom, the veg was burnt and the garlic bread was dripping with grease, I think it might have been put in a fryer. I was offered something else off the menu but having already being told our first 3 choices were not available and with did arrive being so awful I decided against it. The staff were friendly so that was a plus. Nice to go for a pint but I would not recommend eating. Personally I think a manager is needed to tighten up service and I would be looking for a new chef.More

We enjoyed lunchtime snacks here, service was friendly and efficient. Noise was an issue though - scraping of chairs on wooden floor and throwing of bottles into bin from behind the bar. Our nerves were so jangled, I had to politely ask the barman if...they could please place bottles in the bin instead of throwing them! He obliged and we were able to enjoy the rest of our lunchMore

Came in at the start of our holiday for lunch - group of 7 of us seated no problem with a lovely table overlooking the river. Plenty of choice from the menu, including vegetarian options. Food was delicious - so good we came back at...the end of our holiday for lunch again!More

Lovely pub inside and out. Came in for drinks after a long drive on a Monday. Already knew no food served so that was fine. Young chap on the bar worked his socks off looking after everyone and was a credit to the pub. 20th...June was our visit and the member of staff was excellent, and was on his own.More

Decided to go in for some lunch on Wednesday, we all opted for the Cheese and pickle sandwiches, which were served with chips and salad. They were absolutely delicious. The service was prompt, and the waitress was very pleasant. This restaurant has seating outside overlooking...the river, however we decided to stay inside as the sun was shining and it was very warm and there was no shade. I highly recommend The Grosvenor, and will call in again next time I am in Cardigan.More

We had a great day here. We arrived early to get a seat for the six nations and was lucky enough to get the table by the TV and the fire. We had the soup and 1/2 a toastie for lunch and it was delicious!...Great pint of Guinness too! We stayed all day to watch both rugby matches and ended up have our tea there too - I had The Grosvenor Burger and my partner had the Lamb Burger off the specials menu - both very good burgers! Highly recommend. Lots of families came in while we were there, plus walkers with dogs were completely welcome (the dogs were even brought and drink and a treat!) A great pub with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.More

Having stayed down the coast for a break, my wife and I wanted to meet a friend in a dog-friendly pub and a quick search came up with this and another. As we drove into town, we spotted the pub on entry and parked swiftly...to go back. Our friend arrived at the same time so we entered. We were greeted with an indifferent young lady who mumbled about sitting in the bar. We opted to sit round a table in the front. The young lady was very quick to ask us to complete the covid form, as she should and we sat. It was then a few minutes before she came to take the orders. No smile, no personality, she obviously didn't want to be there. When it came to ordering a second drink, she was too busy scrolling on her mobile to notice any requests (remember this is still covid table service). There must have been a change of duty, because during the second drink we had two males come and ask if we required anything. There was no dog paraphernalia as in water bowls, treats, and none were offered. So this pub may be dog-accepting, but dog-friendly may be a push. The pub itself is lovely, clean, well-lit, covid forms and one-way, screens at the bar, but service was a let-down. It was not full, early evening so it was not pressure of work, just indifference (and yes, I have run bars and have a personal licence, not just a punter). Could have been far more welcomingMore

I was disappointed that the first time I visited Cardigan I didn't wear one...this was a great pub with good food, overlooking the river if you sit outside. The town of Cardigan is bustling with lots of non-chain shops.

Called in on the off chance of being able to have a meal and so glad we did. The food and service was exceptional. We were a party of 3 and are starters were Soup carrot and coriander served with warm ciabatta and butter it...was possibly the nicest of that flavour soup I’ve ever tasted, my friends had the garlic mushrooms served with garlic bread, and the calamari each starter equally gorgeous. Our mains were The Grosvenor burger, possibly the biggest burger we’ve ever seen, served with skinny fries, salad and slaw, homemade lasagne, possibly the best lasagne my friend has had, served with garlic bread and Cajun chicken salad which contained sweet corn, grated carrot and olives, not just the usual tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. Portion size is excellent as is the quality of the food and the staff were fabulous. Unfortunately we’re on holiday so probably won’t get to visit here again but would wholeheartedly recommend The Grosvenor at Cardigan.More

There were so many delicious sounding dishes on the menu that I ended up choosing two starters to avoid limiting myself to just one choice - a winning combination! The Salt & Pepper Squid and the antipasti were both served with a generous salad garnish,...with plenty of choice on the Antipasti complete with delicious fresh bread and the squid was perfectly cooked. My (hungry) husband chose the Grosvenor Burger - and just about managed to finish it - such was the size. The children both enjoyed food from the Children's Menu which were also generous in size. A perfect meal for hungry families looking for good quality, modern pub grub!More
