A great pleasure to stay in one of Pennyghael Hotel's adjoining cottages and stroll next door for an evening meal. Extended menu this year, but the favourite remains Inverlussa mussels from a few miles up the road ! Food and service excellent and reasonably priced wines.

We booked a table for Dinner at the Pennyghael Hotel. Friendly welcome and drinks & menu offered. Nice light restaurant with stunning views over the Loch. My husband chose the Langustines followed by Rib-Eye steak, I ordered Venison pate followed by Venison steak. The bread roll for my husband was like a normal roll pulled from a multi pack, with... Dear Wynbar Thank you for taking the time to review our small hotel restaurant, and for the nice comments. There are a few points that need correcting. With the restaurant situated on a remote part of west coast of Scotland, Isle of Mull, fresh bread is not readily available so all the rolls are baked daily by chef, he must... More

Sue Morgan at Craigrowan recommended this hotel for our evening meal and we were not disappointed, so much so that we returned two nights later. The food is obviously freshly prepared with attention to detail. My wife's Mussels were slightly delayed as they were still being cleaned having just arrived from the beds up the road! Very good attentive service... More

We were lucky enough to be given a lovely table by the window with a fantastic view. Binoculars on the windowsill were a nice touch. The restaurant was very clean and the service was fine but the food seems to be a bit hit or miss - my mum had the tomato soup which was tasteless while I had a... More

We booked at the last minute for dinner and the person taking the booking was very helpful in trying to fit us in at the time we wanted to eat. On arrival we were shown to some comfortable seating with a lochside view and somebody came over with menus and to take our drinks order. We had an excellent starter... More

Everything was really good – except the food. The waiter was very friendly and welcoming and he gave us great service throughout; a credit to any establishment. The location is just perfect overlooking the loch in the most beautiful countryside that nature offers. Everything in the restaurant eeks of an upmarket bistro with quality furnishings and cutlery with chic clean... More

Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal at this small restaurant. The staff were friendly and welcoming waiting for us at the door on arrival. Service was efficient and the meal was lovely and the atmosphere warm and cosy. Well worth a visit if you are in the area but you do need to book in advance.

We used the restaurant only as we stayed nearby. Good food, done very well. Comfortable and welcoming, with a good selection of beers and brilliant views of the loch. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.

This review only relates to the restaurant. The menu was limited and did not change from one day to the next, with no 'specials'. Booking had to be made in advance despite the restaurant being far from full. The food was well cooked and presented but lacked imagination. On being asked about a sauce with the fish, the response was... More

Tasty food and super views over the loch. We dined here for two nights and enjoyed an excellent meal. The fillet steak I had was delicious, my wife had chicken with stir-fry vegetables which was nicely presented but was a bit bland. The service was friendly and informal and there is a decent selection of drinks at the bar -... More
