A warm welcome awaits diners; there's a good choice on the menu and the food is well prepared and tasty. The portions are very generous. Service is excellent from friendly staff.

Four of us had an early dinner before the Folk Club started. We all had excellent food along with a very good bottle of Merlot. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. I would recommend the Cross Keys to anyone.

We all enjoyed our meal last night in Sadlers restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive despite a busy restaurant. Good choice and well presented.

Lovely cosy restaurant and tables well spaced. We were a group of six and nice to have circular table so we could all converse easily. Staff were so lovely - just the right level of attention and friendliness without being intrusive. We chose a variety...of dishes and everyone seemed very happy with their choices. Nothing to fault and will be very happy to dine there again soon.More

Overall our experience here was very good. The one disappointing thing was that there was only one choice of meal for my daughter who is gluten free and vegan. We have eaten here on another occasion and she had a few choices. Our waitress couldn’t...have been more helpful and apologetic. It was a very enjoyable meal.More

Me and Hubby have been coming to your hotel for a very long time. Years. We Always dined in The Oak Room.. wonderful meals we had in there. and Staff were great. Very friendly. Really love our Sunday Lunches with you. Only 1 complaint. The...Girl who takes orders and who is at the till for you to pay.. I think she is called Martha, she could be a but more pleasant, and presentable. Very unkempt , and very unfriendly. Apart from that the meal and all other staff are wonderfull. Will be back again soon. Thank youMore

Great meal in lovely room, well spaced tables, no intrusive loud music to disturb us. My father is very hard of hearing and we were able to hold a normal conversation which was lovely. More often than not be misses out on family conversations due...to background noise. Staff were all very attentive, friendly yet professional and were great with my elderly dad. Would definitely eat there again. We were in Kelso on holiday and are now thinking that if we return to the area we would consider staying at the hotel we were so impressed.More

Whilst the lunch was ok it wasn't top notch. 2 potatoes which seemed frozen/reheated not great and way below what I would expect. Meat OK but again, didn't have the feel of being cooked as a joint on the premises and hand carved. Service extremely...slow. Will be a while before we return.More

My partner & I chose the haunch of venison with a bottle of Cotes du Rhone. The venison was excellent: tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes had an elusive hint of truffle oil and garlic, and the spinach had been wilted in stock. Although on...the pricey side (for Kelso), it was well worth a visit, as I suspect the excellent chef is as accomplished at other dishes.More

I always find the Cross Keys a relaxing place to have a drink and a meal. The staff are very friendly and polite. The menu is a little limited but the food is excellent. I had the duck off the specials menu and it was...delicious and my wife had the steak pie which she always enjoys. The price are reasonable too.More
