Had a tasty fish pie served piping hot. Busy pub and might have been better if we'd sat further back in the pub.

Stayed at this hotel for weekend break and from the moment we arrived until we left each member of staff was pleasant and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. We opted for the full scottish breakfast which was enormous and delicious, there are...also plenty other options available on the breakfast menu as well as continental. We would certainly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again when next in Kelso.More

They couldn’t do enough to make you feel unwelcome. My wife and I who are pensioners on walking into the place were greeted by a young lady from the bar saying, before we had a chance to draw breath, no reservation no food or words...to that effect. There are ways to talk to people and we will be telling everyone we know about this dump.More

I stayed at The Queens Head last weekend on a visit to Kelso. The room was very nice, with everything I needed. Tea, coffee and bottles of water provided. Had breakfast on both mornings, the full Scottish which was enormous and thinking it might not...be so filling chose the Vegetarian option on the second morning, wee bit of a mistake that was equally filling! Other offerings for breakfast included Continental, yoghurts, fruit etc so a lot to choose from to set you up for the day. All the staff I came in contact were very nice. I would certainly stay there again.More

We called into this establishment whilst on holiday. The bar staff were so helpful especially Jo. Not great for the disabled as the toilets are in the courtyard.. They were selling Timothy Taylor's Landlords ale as standard with changing guest. Food served all day. Children...and dogs welcomeMore

We stayed for 3 nights in March; very spacious and comfortable room on top floor. Although the room was facing the street, there was almost no noise (Tues, Wed, Thurs) from vehicles on the cobbled street. And the bar did not disturb us either. However...- we left in the nick of time. The Queens Head appears to be a mecca for horse racing enthusiasts, has 3 large screens in the bar area, and as we left was gearing up for Cheltenham weekend. Noise level was starting to rise as we left - 1030! But we will definitely be back, after checking the racing schedule. The staff are, to a man, first class. Nothing too much trouble. Courteous and attentive. Lots of smiles. Good eye contact. The food on offer is expertly cooked and well-presented. Standard pub fare - but as I say very good. Varied menu - the breaded haddock is immense.More

Staff surly and unwelcoming, sticky tables, greasy menus, horse and dog racing on the tv. Reasonable menu and reasonable food but staff need to be trained on how to be nice to customers. Felt very unwelcome paid and left as soon as I could unstick...my jacket from the table.More

Great pub grub- tasty food, well cooked and lots of it. Friendly staff who accommodated us at short notice. Recommend the veg kebabs on couscous, the gammon and the bread pudding ( half our party love custard but half don’t do maybe a cream option...would have been useful!!) our vegan was well catered for. Went twice in the week whilst on holiday and would happily visit again if on the area.More
