We stopped for lunch en route to visit Lawrence Stern's house 'Shandy Hall' that is almost next door. The pub atmosphere is very traditional English pub, comfortable and homely. Excellent meals, generous portions, friendly and efficient service. Here's to the next time!

We had a lovely overnight stay in the family room (rosedale) and a delicious breakfast the next morning. We arrived late and had a nice game of darts in the bar. Despite being above the bar, there was no problem with noise in the room....More

A welcoming country pub with decent food, good beer and friendly service. Our family room was big and spotless and they made our wee dog very welcome. Plentiful breakfast before we continued our trip. My only wee gripe was missing the small print that said...More

A beautiful small village with one pub. We stayed the night, the room was warm and cosy, not luxury, but nice enough. The pub is old and charming, food basic but good. Nice breakfast and friendly people.
