This pub is by a country mile the best place in Harwich. Great atmosphere. Best burger I've ever had and really nice staff. A total treasure in a pretty dreary town.

Thank you for your review wimbledon90, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit but must take exception to Harwich being called "a pretty dreary town". Harwich is a lovely town with a huge amount of history, stunning medieval buildings, thriving local businesses, fab beaches and some of the friendliest folks you could wish to meet. Have a wander round next time... More

This pub/restaurant is well known in the area for excellent seafood, but today I had the vegetarian quiche as it sounded so yummy. I'm not even vegetarian! Reasonably priced. Excellent service.

I have eaten and drunk at this pub several times now, and have never been disappointed. The staff are really friendly and the pub serves a good selection of real ales and other beers, all well maintained. The food is really very good, particularly the fish: I recently had Dover Sole, which was rather good! The pub also seems well-patronised,... More

This is a cracking pub/restaurant/hotel......down a side street that you could easily miss, it reeks of hospitality and charm and according to the current manager dates back to 1580 and was once owned by the wife of the Captain of the famous Mayflower. Food of the highest order and not just the expected multiple sea food options, locally produced beers... More
