We'd been wanting to go to this place for ages so after beautiful fish and chips at Downey's we headed along. The queue was in the foyer and we could see many empty tables but not having been before and there being no signs up,...More

For years I've heard good things about this place so to finally visit and for it to be a huge let down is a real disappointment. Maybe it used to be good, or was having a really bad day. Either way, thoughts below... * the...More

I took 5 colleagues as a treat and had raved about it, as everyone says how fab it is! However, although it's set out like a 50's diner, there's no waitress service. Unfortunately we didn't realise this until we'd sat there for 10 mins, waiting...More

We are a 1950s all american ice cream parlour selling top grade ices and award winning dishes, award winning fairtrade coffee and lovely hotdogs at reasonable prices. We are not the cheapest but if you want quality then we are number 1. A family owned business we were the first of its kind in the North East and are still the peoples choice for this type of thing. Queues can be long at peak times (1-5 on weekends and school holidays) so please come prepared. off peak times are 10am until 1pm where you may not need queue of queue for less.
