When I was at this facility I was part of tour and as a result meals were furnished. The rooms were comfortable.
Excellent, came here for dinner thinking we were going to pay through the nose for average food. Oh how we were wrong! Fantastic food and reasonably priced. We ordered 1 tomato soup to share for a starter, which was a large portion (easily enough for...a main course) with nice bread, excellent flavour. We then had two fish and chips, where 1 portion could have fed two. Fish was delicate, fresh and cooked to perfection. Large portion of chips, nice home made fresh remoulade. Altogether with two drinks £7600 ISK. Lovely attentive service and would highly recommend - wish we found this gem sooner.More
we where at the Minniborgir Restaurant for dinner and we were really really satisfied. the food was very good and quality/price is awesome. The Restaurant is situated near the street but you feel like that you are in the middle of nowhere, just perfect. Stuff...was also very kind and friendly. we would highly recomand this Restaurant. 5 stars +More
The food and service were amazing. The staff were understanding of my mother-in-law's allergies and gave her the"best lamb she had in Iceland. Worth the visit.
Went after a dip in the secret lagoon. Ordered the cheese platter, salad and lamb chops. Excellent food, very fast service.
We were finished with the Golden Circle, and my 3 kids were hangry, but I didn't want to eat at a touristy place at Geysir or Gullfoss, so we drove for a while, maybe 20 minutes until we saw a sign for Minniborgir Restaurant and...gave it a try! Thank goodness we did! The food is so fresh! I had the organic tomato soup and greek salad with a glass of Pinot Noir- absolutely superb! My kids all had the classic burgers with fries. My son also ordered the Caesar salad- i have never seen fresh lettuce so green in my life. Obviously straight from a local garden with HOMEMADE garlic croutons. Oh and fresh bread with divine butter. Our waiter and waitress were both very friendly. My bill was $100, but that fed 4 people with a glass of wine and my daughter had a cappucino, so I don't think the price was bad at all for the quality of the food. I give this place 5 stars. Well done Minniborgir.More
We choce this restaurant because of the delicious pictures of food. Needless to say, expectations were not met.. Food tasted just ok. Service was just ok. I reccomend driving on.
Located in the Minni-Borgir Cottages main building, the restaurant isn't fancy but it's well worth trying if you are in the area - we stayed overnight here (separate review) and were tired and didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner. Katherine was a delightful host...and recommended the organic tomato soup. The tomatoes come from nearby Solheimar (Fridheimar tomato farm greenhouses nearby offer lunch by reservation inside the greenhouse) and I have to say this was the best tomato soup I've ever had. I even asked for,and got, their recipe. Burgers were OK, fries were crisp. And the chocolate lava cake was a perfect ending, with a lovely presentation. A bit less expensive than meals elsewhere in Iceland.More
