That is what I did a number of years ago. It is growing, has some nightlife and some good restaurants. The beach (Dominical) is only 40 minutes down the mountain and then you also have Uvita with its Playa Ballena and marine park a bit further down the coast. Great people in this town. You must enjoy some afternoon time... More

this is a relatively new restaurant in perez zeledon. it is on the road between san isidro el general and dominical (245 or cemetario road it is called locally). the food is somewhat italian and somewhat continental. the owner and his son are congenial and typically happy people. the menu is above average quality and tends to be well thought... Alleged to be the fastest growing city in all of Costa Rica. It is lively and bustling to be sure. After years of visiting, I recently discovered that the communities and metro areas North of the commercial center are extremely attractive and well cared for. Many lovely homes and agriculturally oriented businesses present a tranquil and picturesque vista among the... More

This is a nice quiet town complete with a McDonalds. Did not like being accosted by people at the bus terminal pretending to lead us to the café we asked about and then offering to take us to the other bus terminal (not in an official taxi) and when we said we would walk, stated that my husband was an... Beautiful little mountain town is classic growing Latin American city. Teeming with life - youth - families - working to enjoy their life on the planet. Friendly people, authentic small city, non-touristy, beautiful, clean, great spot to practice your espanol! Lot's of local food available, a beautiful drive over from the coast. Great spot to enjoy some local culture and... More

Could you pick a better setting. We sat in a restuarant high up on the valley rim overlooking the town as you come into town. The view was spectacular. You could see across the valley to the other rim. You could watch different weather patterns come in, it rained twice while we were having our lunch. The town itself is... More

A cute country town on top of the mountain. The real reason to go there is to catch the Farmers Market which is hugh there. Farmers and artist from all other little towns and villages to this event bearing their fruit and cheeses and all. There are some places you can eat fresh things too. There is a pretty church...
