We heard of the high reputation of 178 from locals and wanted to try it. It was slightly unusual to see a linen tablecloth dining experience adjacent to a bowling alley, but any uncertainty was quickly dispelled.
This is a fine dining establishment in a small Arkansas lake town. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. It begins with an excellent bread service featuring excellent Italian bread and also parmasean toast points with real butter.
The appetizer selections are simply outstanding, with the pictured spinach artichoke cheese dip/toast points and onion rings world class, among the best we've ever eaten anywhere. Salad was fresh, dressing excellent, and service attentive and professional.
We shared a barrel cut filet mignon which arrived slightly overcooked from order but excellent quality and flavor, accompanied by fresh steamed vegetables.
Dessert of cream cheese carrot cake was again amazing, just outstanding flavor, freshness and presentation.
This was a pricey meal to be sure, so be prepared to pay around $40 per person or more, but was well worth it and so refreshing to find at this level of quality in a small town!
We would highly recommend and would definitely return on a future visit. Ashley is an excellent server as well!

My Wife & I had our Valentine Day Dinner there. The food was terrific, as always. We both had Parmesan Crusted Fish: I Halibut, she Walleye. Delicious. The service was good too. We had a little trouble getting a reservation because other people in the area appear to have the same regard for this place. The restaurant itself does not have a scenic view, it is more quaint than grand, but you see some terrific views driving to get there.

First time here. Our group had onion rings, cheese sticks, and boneless wings with Asian sauce for an appetizer. They were HUGE servings and were all delicious! For entrees we had Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Strips and Shrimp Alfredo Cajun Style. They were all wonderful as well. Service was great. Nice atmosphere. Definitely a do over.

This is the 2nd review that I have left. Apparently the owners have figured out a way to get rid of negative reviews. The food has gone downhill in the last several years and the prices have gone up. Most of the locals have quit eating here in the restaurant. They will still go to the bowling alley to get a beer. Kind of hard to screw that up.

We stopped here for lunch it was delicious. Staff were wearing masks, checked our temperatures prior to being seated, we wore masks to/from our table, and seated with social distancing guidelines. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. We will for sure return again if we are back in the area.

The 178 Club, has great food, and has that "real", 1970's, Old School Charm. Known for it's Saturday night Prime Rib, and Wednesday night Fried Chicken dinners, with delicious sides. We like to enjoy the bar dining area which is very relaxing with inset fireplaces and nice evening lighting. The wall are wonderfully covered with the whimsically colorful original artwork, (for sale), of well known local Bullshoal's artist, Ted Brehm. Who by the way has also cordially served the guests there for over 30 years. The service is excellent and the food is always consistently great as are the appetizers. The dinner rolls are fresh, but the other bread which is our favorite, is the Crostini's. They also have a full bar with delicious wine choices, and the delightful bartender Brandy there to serve you.

I found a great restaurant while on a recent trout fishing trip.
Located in a tiny town a few miles from the white river is one of the better meals around. Full menu, reasonable prices and quick service!!
178 Club is a must stop.

Camping nearby and thought we would give this a try. Very comfortable ambience and waitress was very friendly. Ordered the catfish, baked potato, and mixed veggies. Everything was really tasty. I know this sounds silly but I really appreciated the way they steamed their veggies. Crisp and not mushy. Would go again in a heart beat.

Have been eating there for years. Have spent several thousand dollars there over time.
We’ve learned that for the best results, reserve bar table with Brandy, so we did, days in advance. I always call to confirm and when I dead “bar table with Brandy” was read back to me.
We show up and they seat us elsewhere. We told Brandy and she checked. But another group was seated there minutes after we arrived. The worst part is our service was TERRIBLE… And of course that’s why we always RESERVE THE BAR TABLE with Brandy.
On our way out we checked and nope…it was not with Brandy. So our reservation had been changed. I called later and left a message for the manager to call me. Never called.
$160 for two (tip and all) and they never bothered to call me back.
You decide. “It ain’t no cheap place to eat”.
I guess they don’t care…

This is the 3rd time we have been here. We were here in October for our anniversary. And before in August 22. Each visit has been such a wonderful experience. We're not the bowling type, but did tour the younger fun side, if we ever bring the grand kids. This beautiful restaurant was such a surprise in the middle of nowhere. Elegant atmosphere, old English pub vibe. Service is excellent. Oh the food, whether it's steak, fish, pasta or burger...and the prime rib night ... tasty perfection.. a must visit when we're camping there.

My experience at the 178 Club in Flippin, Arkansas was quite disappointing. The steak (a ribeye) was tough, very fatty, and lacked flavor, the loaded baked potato was subpar, and the Chicken Parmesan seemed like it was from a can. The prices were high for the quality of food. Unfortunately, my wife and I both felt sick with stomach cramps and diarrhea shortly after our meal, and the presence of flies and a lack of cleanliness in the restaurant were concerning. This was not a pleasant dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Went to play pool and hangout with friends. Staff were rude and got angry when they were off shift playing billiards. I then left and found a broken tail light on my car.
They also are very Anheuser Bush freindly
