About
We are the first restaurant in Puerto Almanza. We are in a charming little fishing village on the banks of the mythical Beagle Channel, where we fish and collect the products used in our dishes. Always looking for quality and freshness of the seafood and crab we offer, thanks to the purity of pre Antarctic waters of the Beagle. At the end of maintaining good care have available 15 place settings and a choice of 4 inputs and 7 mains, this gives us the opportunity to interact with visitors and that they can enjoy the place and the environment. We also provide information on attractions in the area. The hope !!

Close to the end of the world, a cosy and warm small restaurant, facing the beagle canal, where the chef prepares with love and great taste king crab (Magellan crab)... We loved the Centolla plate with fresh crab and the cannelloni fudged with crab, and perfumed with garlic. Don’t miss the fish soup with calamari, fish, mussels ! Everything is homemade and very friendly served. Don’t miss the local Beer on tap!

Incredible lunch place with a view of the canal! Patricio's attention was excellent and he also told us several stories about the place. The food is excellent, we recommend the crab au gratin, crab empanadas and fish empanadas. It has various payment methods and a wood-burning stove that sets the place perfectly. Without a doubt, La Sirena y el Capitan was the best restaurant we have visited in Ushuaia. We will be back soon!

A few days before, send by WhatsApp to make the reservation since the restaurant is only a few months old. We had a reservation for 2:30 p.m., from the city of Ushuaia it is approximately 1:30 h of travel. We arrived and they showed us in, we were right on the window so in addition to the spectacular food we had, we had an incredible view. We ordered crab empanada to start. Then the dishes we chose were the Robalo Ramen in black hake broth, SPECTACULAR. Gratin scallops, an explosion in the mouth, each bite was tastier. Some pumpkin cannelloni, daughter doesn't eat fish, she said they were very delicious. For dessert we ordered a homemade flan, a delight. When we were finishing lunch, the chef came over and told us a little about how they make everything fresh and natural, a master class. Place to return without a doubt. Beautiful atmosphere, SPECTACULAR food.

A FANTASTIC gastronomic experience. I am fortunate to travel all over the world with my work and try foods and products from all over but few compare to those here. I came with very high expectations and I left with exceeded expectations. Special mention for Kike, the chef, who gave us super personalized attention and explained everything about his cuisine and his unique products. We were able to try a little of everything they do at this place and it's all worth it. The king crab as the star dish is not to be missed, but you will be impressed by the black hake, which is juicy, soft and has a spectacular flavor. Going to a place that has a menu that is not as extensive as this one ensures that whatever you order is of high quality and it was. We live from the center of Ushuaia to eat here and would return a thousand times. While we're here, I'll also tell you that the place is very picturesque and the views of the mountains look like a painting.

We went for lunch for New Year's, we ordered empanadas, the first portion was frozen inside, the second had plastic inside, which can happen when fishermen work with crabs with trays. The truth is that I am very disappointed, it wasn't spider crab, it was spider crab, and I speak because I know the subject. The rice with seafood was very ugly, the only thing that stood out is the attention of the girl, very friendly, attentive, and it is not the kitchen's fault. I hope the kitchen improves next time I go.

Hello good! We came to this restaurant because of the number of excellent comments it has and we agree!!! We ate crab empanadas, salmon panzzoti and seafood casserole, all very delicious, the service is amazing and we don't want to stop recommending it. If you happen to walk through Ushuaia, it is a nice place to visit and eat 10 points.

After a month and a half traveling through Patagonia, it was the best gastronomic experience we had in Argentina. We ordered seaweed fritters, fish empanada, black hake, black hake cannelloni, Catalan cream and cheesecake. The service was super friendly and the food was exquisite. Also, Kike the chef came out to greet us and we loved being able to talk to him

Excellent atmosphere and cuisine. Very warm place to meet and taste their dishes. We went yesterday and were pleasantly surprised. Chef Kike treated us wonderfully and his dishes were coastal delicacies. The rest was cared for by its owner, who was very familiar. Full of people, advisable. If you want to delight in freshly caught seafood, do not hesitate to visit them on your tour of Ushuaia, a getaway to Pueblo Almanza and visit the first restaurant in the place, they are 2 adjoining spaces. The Mermaid and the Captain. Exquisites.

Sea Food: from the sea direct to your table! King Crab - centolla - is the Queen. Also, many argentine delikatessen based in local fish. Don't forget the special desserts based on "dulce de leche". Unforgettable.

A unique little place full of warmth, excellent attention and palatial delicacies (although I have never eaten in a palace). The flavors and presentation are impeccable and I have no doubt that they would flatter the most demanding palates. I don't know if we will ever return to Ushuaia, but I am sure that if we do, I will visit again those who I ended up considering occasional friends of La Sirena and the Captain. I hope that if one day we return, we will meet again with the first-class chef, Oscar Enrique Diaz, who delighted us with his seaweed fritters, crab empanadas, crab au gratin, black hake and a Catalan cream that compared to the one we have eaten in Barcelona beats him by a landslide. We also thank Daniel, our co-provincial, for his careful and warm attention, and Patricio, who, while in charge of the Restaurant, also shared very interesting talks with stories about the place. As an anecdotal fact, we went to lunch twice during our stay, and on the last one, we left without paying amid so much talk and goodbye hugs. After a while we returned to use the restrooms, and between smiles, they reminded us without worries of that small detail. Super recommended! Hugs from Edda and Hugo de Rosario.

Super recommended, they treated us great. We ate fresh salmon of the day, the portion more than abundant, the vegetable garnish excellent. We also tried the crab empanada, which was spectacular. We also highlighted that the bread from the panera was exquisite!

A warm place, run by Patricio, its owner, a very friendly and familiar atmosphere, with a wonderful view of the Beagle Channel, they make you feel at home!! The exquisite dishes, the best black hake we tried in Ushuaia, we also tasted cholgas and crab with parmesan, but the hake was the best of all. If you are in Almanza, do not hesitate to visit this beautiful place, book in advance because the place is small, you will not regret it!!

A crotos town where they charge you 100 usd for the crab they catch in front of you. We went to the Mermaid and the captain. With my 6-year-old daughter, I understand that it's about going to eat fish, but they didn't even have a simple chicken schnitzel as an option or at least a salad. Rich but 0 gastronomic level. Fish still life.

I loved having lunch in this place overlooking the Beagle Channel, very small, well attended and with exquisite cuisine. We ate gratten crab because it is closed season. Bruschetta of prawns, black hake and salmon, all excellent, and torrontes wine. The prices are appropriate to the place and the quality of the food.

We went there for lunch. The menu is not available in English for foreign visitors and nobody inside speaks English. We had crab the house speciality for starter. As good as no meat inside. The main course salmon and merlush recommended by the chef. Salmon cooked dry roast potatoes not cooked enough. This all for 100 us dollar. Not worth to go all the way on the gravel road in bad condition.
