We just had to go. Probably the most famous restaurant (other than Llao LLao) in Bariloche. Too bad we didn't see the 15% discount coupons in Sabores before we went. The quality is very good and the atmosphere is really nice. Just too much for what you get.

My plan was to go to another restaurant but then decided to stop here when I passed it. You will need a car to get here as it is quite a bi tour of town. It might even be worth taking a cab! It already started with the very friendly welcome and a drink. The menue is quite extensive and... More

Go early to start your dining experience with a drink at their big, beautiful fireplace that is in a separate room from the dining room.

We made a reservation based on the opinion of a hotel concierge. Dinner here was not a disaster, merely disappointing. The restaurant is huge with lots of decoration and native wood. We were offered a drink to start the meal in an adjacent room with delicious stuffed olives. Our table was ready, by the window, and yes there's a great... More

Visited this restaurant for dinner on December 26. The place was highly rated but the food was pretty ordinary Argentinean fare. Unfortunately, our waiter forgot to bring us one of the dishes we ordered and never bothered to apologize. We were supposed to receive complimentary glasses of champagne but he had to be reminded of this and the champagne finally... More

Now I'm not sure if my experience was/is typical of this place but I try to be as fair and accurate as I can. I know that this restaurant was very nice, high end and priced high. We stopped by because it was right next to our hotel. Both my wife and I were not impressed. Even though there didn't... More

El Patacon has a very impressive look architecturally. It looks like a big wood cabin. All the tables have a good view of the lake. Upon arrival, a complimentary wine is served before being seated. The steaks are very good but be careful how you order. They tend to be a bit overcooked unless you specify rare (jugoso is the... More

We loved it here. It could be on the pricey side, but we didn't mind since the food was fantastic and the service was fabulous. We consider this restaurant as one of the more authentic restaurants in Argentina.

Service was incredibly slow and food was not good. Server was friendly but with two tables occupied in the entire restaurant he was always missing and when he brought plates they were not good. I had a pumpkin soup that was cold and lumpy and some kind of cheese thing I could not eat. The empanada as good. Those in... More

El Patacon is a traditional, old style establishment offering continental cuisine that's likely to appeal to older folks seeking more traditional, rather than creative food. Ingedients are of high quality, but preparation is simple and "old style". Portions are large. Preparation is mixed; the grilled trout was of excellent quality, and the grilled preparation was simple, with the integrity of... More
