If you enjoy steak or meat this is a great restaurant for you, although other entrees are available on the menu. They were able to mix a standard Manhattan without difficulty and had a great wine list. Many of the steaks to share were 33 ounces, and much too big for the two of us. Although we did split a smaller rib eye. We started with the house charcuterie platter, which was quite large and quite different from those in the states. The food was well prepared and and tasted great. The service was top notch and the ambiance is typical of a Four Season restaurant.

Having brunch ant Elena was a sublime experience that reminded me of any foreign country I was able to travel to. The variety of dishes and the quality of the ingredients are exquisite. You can even see the chef and cooks on the work and feel at home at the same time. I have been there several times and will several more!

From the warmth of the welcome, to the elegance of the room, to the outstanding service, and the excellence of the cuisine, one cannot speak too highly of Elena. Seated on a banquette we had a perfect view of the open kitchen to see the unusual calm of a busy kitchen that from a perfectly organized kitchen team. The wine list is extensive but priced on the higher side. One outstanding presentation was the Bresaola Wagyu which at 5,850 ARS was an incredible value served with a premium, first press, olive oil balanced by the acidity of lemon juice.

This was supposed to be one of the 50 best restaurants in the world. We made a reservation to celebrate our 5th year anniversary, and it was unforgettable for the wrong reasons. This was just another expensive restaurant where you pay more than it is worth it. The cured meat was great, the main dishes were good, but not exceptional. We ordered the chorizo, ojo de bife and the lamb. The side dishes were good, but again, nothing exceptional that could justify the price. After the main dishes were sent to the table, it seemed that our table was invisible, the waiter did not come to the table to check up on us, did not take the plates away even 10 minutes after we were finished. We had to waive and call the waiter and ask him to take the plates away, which were full of grease from the meat. In the mean time, he was passing by the table and just ignoring it. After he took the plates, he vanished again. Did not ask if we wanted anything else, drinks, dessert, nothing. Also, we had to waive and ask him to clean the table. After a long wait, the waiter asked of we wanted dessert. So, was it over? Think again! The desserts were mixed up! The smoked pancake was in the plate it was supposed to be the classic pancake and vice versa. After waiving for a long time, another waiter passing by asked us what we needed and he said that could fix our order. The restaurant is not worth the bad services and the food is not that good. It is not worth the buzz, do yourself a favor and spend your money in a better experience.

From the Reservation everything was unpleasant! .
I called to book and the receptionist says that it no longer has room that I could wait 2 minutes (me on the other side of the phone) that sounds literal, I would arrive in 2 minutes if I were in the hotel lobby. We were the same because we were close (without Reservation) and the place was empty and the worst thing is that it NEVER filled up!! . They gave us a table as a "favor."
The menus are uncomfortable with a crossed wood, have a ugly and slim menu. We ordered a steak with specialty bone to share that came all cut into band-aids, full of fat and cold, potatoes swimming in butter with crumble, fried gannets that were dry, hard and looked like grass, gizzards that were good and a couple of glasses of wine that serve them at the time but charge them dearly and filled to less than half a glass.
The dessert cart (without refrigeration) goes continuously offering and we chose a chocolate mouse and a glass 3 milks that lacked cold and was souped up with liquid, horrible I didn't even eat it! .
In conclusion, I don't come close to our expectations for such an expensive place, mediocre attention, uniforms of the scruffy waiters in jean and shirt and on top you pay and not even give you a tax ticket but one for internal use.
The best thing was the deco of the place and the impeccability of the toilettes.
A Vergueza Elena x wherever you look !!!!

There is no doubt the the dry aged beef at Elena rivals places like Peter Luger in New York. The problem is they are understaffed and have inept waiters. The inexperience and carelessness effects the meal. The meat was served as ordered. But the sides was late and wrong. For example, a salad was switched for another. When the waiter was informed of the error she replied that there was no leaf of that type in the kitchen so the chef just gave her ice berg lettuce. Surprise! She didn’t bother to ask us. And because they are grossly understaffed the meal takes hours to be delivered. So meat arrive and sides arrive long after the main course.
If you can cope with a disorganized meal… Elena’s beef is the best in Buenos Aires.

Excellent food, service and design of dining space. It was a pleasure dining at this place. The staff was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, food very tasty and value for the money was way above average. I would come abck anytime. Hopefully soon!

The food was decent but a bit underwhelming given our high expectations heading into the dinner. However, the biggest turn-off was our bill showing up with a side dish listed as costing $16,700 ($100+ USD equiv.) vs. the $1,670 ($10) listed on the menu. Luckily, we caught it and had the price adjusted before paying but there was no formal apology from the restaurant and it seems hard to believe that the system was to blame given all the rest of the prices were correct and this was not a new item on the menu. Would make sure to triple check your receipt before paying if you choose to visit!

The staff is always nice and willing to help, making sure you feel spoiled.
The food is great, no matter what you choose. Beware that if you go for meat (especially dry aged), after Elena’s you’ll probably not be able to enjoy it in your usual places anymore.
Last but not least, the ambiance, just completes the experience so that I always want to go again.

We arrived before time, we went to see the Four Seasons hotel which is very luxurious. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we stayed in the front room and offered us sparkling Chandon, we were delighted from this moment. By sitting at the table, we get two delicious entries. We asked the Elena board, we loved the focaccia, very tasty, but we will ask another entry at a next opportunity. Next we ordered the T-Bone that was AMAZING and a bottle of Piatelli wine (good - not great as a Catena, but for the price served well). In the end we get two more glasses of sparkling.
I just want to leave a point of observation which is why I gave four points and not five. The sommelier took out the plate of breads before my wife finished, and that left her pretty upset. She was with the piece of bread still in her hand, she was frustrated pq was high expectation for being Michelin and this would never be accepted in a restaurant of this category. It was our ten-year anniversary and wanted to surprise at the maximum level, since she is also a chef.
Outside this setback, everything was spectacular.

Went for a couple’s dinner during our vacation. We couldn’t do a reservation, so we arrived earlier. The attendant told us that there weren’t tables available because the reservations were to be completed, although guests were not present yet, but they said we could sit at a shared big table with privacy if we wish to. They showed us the place, which was ok (a big table near to the restaurant), and we accepted. But what they didn’t tell us was that there you basically don’t have service as in the rest of the restaurant, except for the sommelier, who helped us very gently and recommended excellent wine. The waiters appeared only for us to make our orders. They didn’t come back to refill water or the wine. We had to serve ourselves, despite paying Four Season’s prices. Very disappointing. Would’ve been better not offering clients that option because it impacts the whole experience and makes you feel a dumb.

Michelin star but with fast food service! The garçonettes and sommelier do not live up to the star. The meat was good but the pasta was hard, therefore it was not fresh pasta and the food came before the wine, so quickly that it seemed to be already ready when we ordered it and the sommelier It only came after the food was already cooling Wines not very good and very expensive We suggest Michelin to review their ratings because that was not a Michelin experience

The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Four Seasons hotel.
The place was recommended by a client. The atmosphere is great, very good service and amazing cuts of beef. Highly recommended, portions are big, try placing an order to be shared by two. Enjoy

I went to celebrate a birthday, we ordered octopus (among other dishes) which for the price of $28,000 pesos per dish) we assumed was abundant, ooo the dish had just a little arm of octopus and it was gorgeous. a very unpleasant and extremely expensive dish, the rest of the food was nothing more than average
Nothing special to spend 4 people 136,000 pesos on a birthday dinner
Balance of the night, mediocre to bad food, price, extremely expensive and the service is average, they serve better in any restaurant in Buenos Aires
It leaves much to be desired
I would not go back
It is not understood the rating that some restaurants sometimes earn

Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication.
