My son and I were out seeking a gluten free menu and FindMeGlutenFree led us here. The neon sign is burned out, so you'll only see "TR" the "IXIE" may be fixed at some far distant time in the future. It is very cute inside with red checkered table clothes, red stools and Elvis Presley music on a continuous loop.... More

I loved the atmosphere of this place, I was waiting for the Fonz to show up at anytime. The wait staff was attentive and courteous and the food arrived in a reasonable time. The burger was good but a little on the dry side, me thinks it was cooked a little to long, loved the fries and the onion rings... More

This is an American-style diner with burgers and other sandwiches. My chicken sandwich on a roll was quite good and the fries were excellent, not heavy or soggy. They also had giant cookies for dessert, which were good. Not a place to go out of your way for but good if you are staying at the Hotel Aeroparque. There is... More

I think it is safe to say I tested this place thoroughly during my last trip to BA, 3 visits in 3 days - we were at a trade show and needed somewhere close to grab a bite. Service is always quick, although we had to wait for a table on one occasion - no more than 2 minutes. The... More

I have eaten burgers all over the world. I am now making burgers sous vide and experiment with various mixtures. These burgers are by far the worse I have eaten. The first order was sent back as they were grossly over cooked. I accepted the second attempt but could eat less than half. Not only were they dry and again... More

If you have a craving for some traditional American diner specialties during your visit to Buenos Aires, then the Trixie Diner at Costa Saguero is the perfect place to satisfy your appetite. Enjoy, hamburgers, or hot dogs, eggs, chicken fingers, milkshakes, sodas, and more. The service is efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is classic diner style. The two patios... More

Terrible terrible terrible. Gimmicky, tacky with the worst service known to mankind. Waitress was moody and slow, greeting us with the stinkeye when we asked for a refill. Cafe con leche was 75% leche and a table seated after us was served a good fifteen minutes before us. Restaurant was otherwise empty but we still waited 45 minutes for subpar... More

Believe it or not it has been difficult to find a good hamburger in BA. The historical problem has been all hamburgers taste like flat meat balls. Enter Trixie, a theme American Diner with good old US food. Problem one: Meat is sinuous with tough stringy particles that mar the texture. Taste is good and not over salted, another Argentine... The only value of this little stainless steel diner is its location. There isn't anything else around. The staff was nice enough but the food was expensive and of poor quality. 50's American music was loud and incongruous. In a pinch I'd do it again, but only if I had to. Not recommended

This place was terrible. I ordered a chicken burger and half of the chicken was totally raw. One person's burger was also slightly raw (it's not that it was cooked rare, it was overdone except for the part that was raw). The service was terrible -- we kept asking for water and glasses and never got it. The fries weren't... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
