Wonderful lunch spot in Recoleta. Have the octopus! The burrata was also delicious. Nice atmosphere.

It was great to dine outside on a balmy summer night. Italian food done right. The wild pig Agnolotti were fantastic as was the octopus.

When you walk in, the restaurant decor is not overwhelming and the restaurant is certainly not big, but the food the five of us enjoyed was very good indeed as was the service. With three bottles of wine consumed along with appetizers and main courses, it came to $75/person with tip. The service was attentive, the food presentation was very... More

We came on the advise of a friend. It was a quiet night and we sat outside. The owner stopped by to say high and seeing my wife struggle with the menu sat down and explained everything. He even suggested a nice wine that wasn't too expensive but worked well with the meal. My wife had ravioli and I had... More

Doing research before I came to BA I was shocked to know the Italian influence. Being that I've been to Italy I was excited to get some real Italian food again. La LOCANDA did not disappoint. Started with the Rustic salad and clams and had the mushroom ravioli and grilled octopus as a main course. Waitstaff was good including the... More

Very good Italian food and very friendly service! The grilled octopus was superb! Take plenty of cash as they offer you a 10% discount on the bill if you were planning to use card but then switch to cash.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend we trust as the chef had recently been chosen to represent Italy in an Argentine cooking competition. We arrived not expecting the moon and stars, but a laid back and delicious date night. We were taken aback quickly by the terrible waiter, who responded in a very condescending manner when we clarified that... More

well the Chef/Owner is on the Gourmet Channel so we had high expectations, which were dampened when we were greeted by our waiter, so obvious that he did not like his job at all, zero service/enthusiasm, no water/bread offered, so after 15 mins we asked for it, and a basket of cold bread came with a bottle of water. We... More

My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and had a lovely time. The food isn't cheap but it's really fantastic and for the quality I would definitely say good value and the service was excellent. We had the burrata mozzarella (without a doubt my favorite mozzarella) with grilled vegetables as a starter. The semi-dried tomatoes were the only thing... More

Hi Boyd, we are glad that you liked the food at our restaurante. We would like to let you know that we do not make a recharge by paying in credit card, we do a discount by paying in cash. You miss understood the waiter maybe. The check has the total of the money people spend and then we make... More

Had a lunch 2 years ago with a local friend who recommended the place. They accommodated us even though the lunch hour was almost over. The pasta dish I had was out of this world. I've often thought about the meal since I returned to New York, and now, after two years I'm going back to Buenos Aires and am... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
