This cafe is now called Casa Vittoria. This is a cute cafe (seats 10 people max) to sit and visit with a friend, to read a newspaper, or for a small lunch. Lunch starts at 12.30pm. There is a menu (in Spanish) but the chef came out and let us know what is available (in other words, not everything on... More

I LOVE Florencio ! We lived right down the street, not even a full block away. Daily stops for a cup of cafe and a medialuna are perfecto as was lunch .. the service is lovely and we enjoyed where they are located. A little hidden gem.

I just had one if the best sandwiches of my life. My husband's was equally good, actually we couldn't decide which was better. This place is very, very cute. I had a couple of dulce de leche macaroons with coffee, they were exquisite. Just as well I found this place in our last few days in BA or I would... More

My daughter introduced us to this tiny coffee shop without wi-fi. I bring up this little detail because they are proud of the fact that they encourage conversation, not isolation . Great coffee. My wife had the submarino which is a cup of hot milk with a hint of cinnamon. Next you pour in the chocolate chips until you have... More

Sweet little cafe tucked away on a side street just a few mins walk from Recoleta cemetery. Fantastic homemade cakes, good coffee and lovely ambience. Swerve the pavement places around the cemetery and give this place a go.

We rented an apartment near this place but we did not discover it until our last day when it was closed. However on visiting it this year we loved it. Coffee was excellent, the pear cake delicious and the attendant delightful! We will try lunch there one day.

My wife and I visited this cafe on our first full day in Buenos Aires. She had read about it online and was intrigued. What an incredible find! The cafe is tucked away on a quiet street, away from the general madness of Buenos Aires. There are only about 5-6 seats in the cafe, making it a perfectly quaint place... More

I ordered a tea, my wife a coffee. My tea was a Tetley teabag accompanied by a pot of boiled tap water (I could tell by the taste of chlorine in the tea) in a fancy pot. My wife's coffee was watery, lacking any real flavour. The shop itself is tiny, so small that my wife said she felt uncomfortable... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
