I was here with friends of the local university. Indeed this was a good choice. It has a local and cozy atmosphere. We had one of the house specials with lomo and malbec as wine. The food was fresh and abundant, the service correct. The malbec needed an ice bucket as too warm, but there were temperatures of 35 degrees... More

Across the road from Howard Johnsons Recoleta it didn't open till 2015hrs. Plenty of small cafes around to have a drink in while we waited. Got there about 2045 to find filling up with guests, Monday night!. Seats about 60 with nice decor and nice formal table cloth setting. Waitress was first class, chatted and guided us although menu which... More

Brut was just across from Arc Recoleta Hotel so we tried it one night and liked it so much we ate there again. Full of locals from the neighbourhood we were the only gringo tourists. Great local food. Had the "Jane " hearts of palm salad and Beef first night, then same salad with Salmon second night. Great wine. Great... More

This restaurant is opposite a Howard Johnson Hotel and about 150 m to the left from Arc Recoleta. It is very good. It has an extensive wine list (all affordable) and an extensive food menu. The proprietor speaks good English and the menu is in Spanish and English. We ate here every night for a week and enjoyed every meal.... More

we visited there after going to the fine arts museum. The staff were great, the place was busy, and the food was great. Very reasonably priced and decent wine by the glass. I would go back!

We spotted this restaurant down the road from our accommodation. We arrived around 8.15pm - plenty of tables without a reservation, but they were all full by 9ish. The hostess was helpful. She spoke good english, and the menu was all in Spanish and English. The wine very reasonably priced, we had a good chardonnay. The menu is extensive. Food... More

Great restaurant with a real local feel. Immerse yourself in the local culture and feel and eat like a local. The steaks are delicious and the wine selection is great. Service is great and attentive. Do try the Panqueque Dulce de leche. It is delicious!

2 of us visited here on a Saturday night and luckily managed to get a table as it was almost full! They have a wide menu (meat, chicken, fish, pasta) which is all reasonably priced. I ordered the garlic chicken which was accompanied with candied pumpkin. The food wasn't amazing but it definitely didn't disappoint like some places in the... More

Friendly service, excellent beef, good neighborhood ambiance. Also, very affordable. Worth checking out for a real "townie" experience in Buanos Aires. Full of local diners when we went on a Friday night.

Cozy local "bistro" in a style that hails from the 80s. It seems to have a loyal following. We all had slightly different versions of beef fillet and they were good. Dessert was lacklustre. Food was fresh and abundant, service correct and prompt. Being a bit on the small side, it can get crowded and therefore a bit noisy. I... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
