Small place, few options at menu, open only for lunch, not easy to find in a pedestrian street and the entrance crowded by people buying quick meals (bread, cheese & ham). Everything may lead you to avoid the place, right? WRONG! If you miss the opportunity to go there you will sure regret later. They behave like a small cantina,... More

This is probably one of the best restaurants in downtown BA. My only regret - and a big one - is the price. Nice ambiance, very professional service. Has good take-away, too.

The hotel reception staff where I was staying recommend this restaurant which was right next door. I was not disappointed with either the welcome I received or the food I'd ordered. As I was travelling on my own and speaking very little Spanish I was very grateful that some of the staff spoke english and were very courteous and helpful.... More

Ideal for a good business lunch. You wont dissapoint your guests. Daily menu options are offered and changed everyday. Big portions and delicious food. Italian food but with a little Argentine touch. Nice and warm decoration.

Its a good place to stop by and have lunch. It is well localized in a busy place, despite of it the inside environment is quiet and calm. I recommend pasta al funghi or the suggestion of the day.

i stay at the nogaro hotel so it was just around the corner from the hotel, we loved it, very good and abundant meal, and in a town so over charging like buenos aires it was a great deal for the price.

First of all, the restaurant is not in the Almagro area, but rather in the Centro/Montserrat neighborhood. Peru is the extension of Calle Florida, the main street in the Downtown area. This is the only Italian restaurant I have visited where the portions are minute. I had an appetizer with a main dish and although I am not a hearty... More

Cozy and simple place, easy to reach. Tried Ensalada Caprese as primo piato followed by a ravioli di vitello al funghi accompanied by a red wine. Food went fast, pasta was al dente. To close a single expresso. Nice meal, well served. Good service, nothing to complain. Definitely would return when in BsAs.

I walked by this place numerous times in my last two trips to BA and never realized there is a very nice restaurant behind the counter and the few outside tables. They have a very good wine list with some good choices by the glass, and a wide variety of Italian food- pizza, pasta, meats, salads and desserts. The service... More

We had a bit of a hard time finding this restaurant, mostly because they do carry out and the line for that was long, so we almost missed the entrance to the restaurant itself, which is narrow and behind a curtain. We had lunch at about 2, and it was still busy with executives and locals, not really tourists. The... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
