Mexican food in the USA comes in many regional varieties, each a different experience. Maria Felix offered food prepared in ways I'd not yet experienced. We were attending a conference at the Polo Científico Tecnologico across the street (and our hotel was a few blocks away). We ate here twice, once inside with a large group and also on the... More

We liked the quirky atmosphere, food and drinks here, although we had to wait a while for a table, and once we got one, service was slow. One of us had a delicious fish dish and the rest were vegetarians so had to be a little creative. We managed to get a large side dish of black beans and a... More

This place was recommended to me by a Buenos Aires foodie as a great Mexican restaurant. Not sure what it was but I was not so impressed with it. The food was not bad but it just lacked that home feeling I like when eating out (being comfy as if you had stayed home). The service was nice and attentive.

We often use Tripadvisor to check on restaurants.. this restaurant had mixed reviews and having been there, I full agree. Strange interior decoration, run down place, the food was maximum mediocre - only the staff was friendly.

After several disappointments culinary disappointments in BA (what is going on?), we had nothing to lose and sat down on the busy sidewalk terrace of the restaurant, expecting at best to get a drinkable margarita. The latter turned out to be excellent and the food was a nice change, perhaps not life-changing for those accustomed to great Mexican food, but... More

I've been here a couple times with my girl friend and we really like this place. The staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is great, complete with a mariachi band. The food is great and reasonably priced. This is as close to Mexican as your going to get in Buenos Aires, but it's all good.

If all you want is Mexican food, go to Mexico. Maria Felix offers a fixed menu for groups (2 choices of firsts and second course and 2 puddings). Includes a glass of wine or a pint of beer and coffee/tea. Good quality stuff. Private rooms for groups and great atmosphere. Including live mariachi group.

This was another attempt to get some good Mexican food in BA, unfortunately we failed again. Everything we tasted in this place was under par... the guacamole was not tasting bad but almost liquid and full of large tomato pieces, the mixed plate (the specialty) was unsavory and some kind of second grade cheese was mostly replacing the expected salsa... Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
