This is a classic Spanish-style restaurant specializing in seafood and one of BA's best! . I have never had a bad meal here. The food and service are very good.

Nice old restaurant in Recoleta where you may enjoy a wonderful evening.... Oviedo offers a great menu with different dishes and wines together with a good service. Of course prices are a bit expensive but sometimes you have to forget about it!! Buona serata a tutti e buon appetito :)

Ended up eating her twice in one week as the the restaurant was warm, welcoming and, after 9 pm, bustling! Service is friendly and welcoming. Lamb chops, seabream and cerviche were all perfectly prepared. Dulce de leche flan was delicious! Recommend you go -- but best to wait until 9 pm to get the full effect! (You will definitely need... This place is OK but nothing more. We are old enough to remember the 50's and this place fits right in. The service is serviceable -- although we received two orders of the same amuse bouche -- and the food is well prepared, but everything is so retro that if they weren't so serious it could be a spoof. We... More

Welcomed graciously with a reservation, we both enjoyed the best gazpacho ever! Bill's risotto with shrimp was creamy and very tasty. My grilled fish was cooked to perfection but needed something other than mashed potatoes and soft vegetables (except for the carrots) as sides. Hindsight suggests that other accompaniments would have been better choices. My plate also did not match... More

Lunch on our final day in Buenos Aires at this restaurant recommended by friends. Without a doubt the very best meal of our 26 day trip. It was so hot today and the Gazpacho was both superbly balanced and an ideal entree. The Seafood Risotto and Patagonian Lamb were both delicious and the Creme Caramel with dulce de leche a... More

My husband and I ate here on one of our first evenings in Buenos Aires during our honeymoon in October 2016 and we were very pleased with our experience. We were looking for a nice place that did an early dinner (since we were doing a tango class at 9pm and wanted to eat beforehand) and was close to the... More

Nothing more than this: I can´t say if it was bad luck, the place looks very nice, but my girlfriend´s fork was dirty. I payed for the sodas we ordered (before she saw it) an we went to another place.

My wife and I had a terrific dinner here. The atmosphere was wonderful -- beautiful table setting, enough spacing between tables to have an intimate conversation, and cozy sound dynamics. We each had fish and the preparation of each dish was sublime. The waiter was very helpful in navigating the extensive wine list.

I will forever remember this dinner in Buenos Aires. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and kind waiters who knew the menu inside out. The food is absolutely delicious and the wine selection is very good. We had various fish dishes which were all cooked to perfection and shared a dessert between us which... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
