Sorrento is one of the many restaurants along the river in Puerto Madero. We decided to go Italian as a change of pace from all the meat and were not disappointed. Sit outside on the large patio and your view of boats, people and water will be a nice bonus to the meal. We ordered a garlic shrimp appetizer that... More

Surprisingly large menu of seafood specialties. Everything we tried was excellent. Indoor and outdoor dining in an elegant setting with professional service. Very good wine list. Recommended dining in Puerto Madero.

There are a few reviews that highlight this and believe me it's true. The pasta was nothing short of bland and frankly the worse we have both tasted. It could be it specialises in other dishes but getting the basics right is essential for any restaurant. The service was ok but the food lets down what could be a good... More

Nice place and nice food. However, extremely inattentive and slow service. The place could be so much better if at least they paid attention to clientes. I ordered wine and water several times with no response. Tables around us were messy and menu dirty.

This is an Italian restaurant. You have to make a reservation otherwise you may not be able to find a place. The food was average. The pasta was not good. I ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce. It is an easy and typical Italian pasta but I was frustrated. The other food we tried was average as well.

After reading some intimidating reviews about the Puerto Madero restaurants, Sorrento seemed right up our alley. We were very glad we walked over from the Hilton. The seafood pasta dishes are excellent. The first night we weren't that hungry so we ordered some fresh Patagonian oysters (oyster aficionados they are a must try!), shared the mixed seafood pasta and a... More

I went along with a group of friends and the food , the atmosphere of the place and the location was exquisite! I recommend ordering seafood, or the sorrentinos with cream and fungi, because they were out of this world (specially the sorrentinos), but every plate was awesome and we all ordered different things. The staff was very kind and... More

Craving for Italian food after a hard day work...Service was excellent (almost feels like a butler service). The waiter was very attentive to your needs and has super memory of the menu and orders taken (6 of us with different meals and some ordered steak cooked at different level). On weekend lunch they have free opera singing on outdoor dining,... More

All I will say is that this restaurant is a tourist trap. They treat tourist different that locals. If you want a good meal that is not overpriced do not come here. Go to the local places.

Highly recommend for a nice Italian meal in Puerto Madero - fine dining but not very expensive. Very good variety and friendly staff - really attentive and made good recommendations.

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighbourhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
