Taverna Antiqua in Tomar is a Medieval theme restaurant, but it is excellent. The décor is rustic, as is to be expected. The place is lit by candles and the only electric lights we saw inside were at the waiter's station. I assume these may...More

The medieval style decoration is really well done. I really enjoyed their home made beers. The food however was nothing exciting. But definitely not bad either.

This Medieval themed restaurant provides excellent food and service off the main square in Tomar...all food and recipes using ingredients from medieval times!

Tasty food on the main square, friendly and helpful service. Attempt to simulate medieval dining is maybe a little hokey but ends up being kind of fun

This was the first disappointing meal I've had in Portugal, and TripAdvisor says it's #1 in Tomar? First of all, the atmosphere is very touristy. It's faux-medieval: candles on the tables drubbing wax, bench seating. Second, I walked in and a waiter was taking someone's...More

I do not know what a gluten free diet consist of however I would say no based on the impression I got. It's menu and setting that is based on a medieval more barbaric tone. Dinner would be whatever you killed in the woods... More

I think the outside terrace you mention is over a sidewalk, which is an outside public place (restaurants usually pay the local authorities a fee to use the public spot). I think in that case it is allowed to have a pet... More
