Cathy and Remy continue to provide a special dining experience for their guests. We look forward to visiting them in their new premises on our return to Knysna next year.

Lovely experience and top quality food. A culinary treat from beginning to end. Remy, Cathy, their son and their staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and we had such a special evening. The food was truly out of this world. We started with a Mussel and Camembert dish respectively. Then I had the kingklip and my... More

Our second visit this trip - this time in a new temporary location - now an easy walk from town. The passion and quality continues from Remy and Cathy. This isn't nouvelle fancy cuisine- it's solid quality traditional French cooking that can't be beaten. Order the cote de bouef in advance and you will not be disappointed. Good portions mean... Wonderful french and mediterranean inspired cuisine, nicely presented by Cathy and expertly prepared by Remy; both went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Note they had to move location and the restaurant is now close to Ar'Deco Guesthouse on the road to Simola (which will change again once they found a better place in town). A refreshing... More

Superb location with excellent food and service. Cathy went out of her way to explain in detail all items on the menu and Remy did his thing in the kitchen , producing a meal of the highest quality. Helpings are large so u need to pace yourself . Well worth visiting.

Had an excellent meal this evening however, as a word of warning, the portions are large, so we shared a starter (baked Camembert) and pud (tarts te tain) and we're still stuffed. Only downside was the constant stream of ants on the window frame by my right shoulder that they tried to wipe away with paper towel!!!

Our second visit to De Geiter. We had a dud evening a year ago, when there seemed to be some issue between owner and staff and the service was very poor. We took a view that that could have a been a one off and, as others seem to enjoy the place, would try them again. The food is OK,... More

The new owners have created an authentic French restaurant overlooking the lagoon and you feel you are back in Europe in this rustic setting with Kathy and Remy attending to your every need. The food is delicious and if we had time we certainly would come back for second helpings!

Our Guest House had booked a table for 4 well in advance as it was Valentine's night & boy were glad they had done so as both couples being on "the other side of 40" Valentine's has faded somewhat!.....the location is idyllic & views back over the lagoon are spectacular.... now with that out of the way the restaurant.... it... Die Geiter's is off the beaten track in a rural situation. It's a rather ramshackle hotel and restaurant in need of some tlc however that is part of its charm. I loved the old buildings and unkempt gardens. We were shown to the first floor and when seated my chin almost hit the table which itself was a bit dodgy.... More
