We arrived too late for lunch which others described as superb. We chose the chicken and mushroom pie and a burger with mushrooms instead of the bun. Brilliant pub food and superb Mitchell's beer. Bell Tavern is in a lovely calm spot. The service was friendly and swift. Overall I would wholeheartedly recommend the Bell. Earlier next time to get... More

Fab location , fab food, including superb Bobotie and best Sunday lunch in town. And lovely ice cold Forresters at just 25 Rand a pint. Can't be beat for value, service.

The bobotie at the Bell, served with pints of Foresters at just R25 a go is not to be missed. We also had wonderful Sunday lunch which is even better value for money. Great setting, great food and superb service.

lovely little tavern, excellent food. Just like a good country pub in the UK but better cheaper food. Great atmosphere.

What a welcome discovery! Exploring the area we stumbled across this gem and opted to stop for lunch. I’m so glad we did; it was one of the best and most enjoyable meals of our two week holiday. There’s a lot of history in the pub building and a calm, tranquil atmosphere away from the tourist hubbub. Our waiter was... More

This is our fourth visit to the Bell and the food, drink and staff are excellent. The menu offers a good choice. We would especially like to thank Jeffery for his cheerfulness and efficiency. Super, duper!!!

Visited again on my most recent visit to knysna, I've been visiting for many years and have never experienced a bad meal here! Sunday lunch is great, Cobb salad is great and everything everyone else has had on my visits has been great! The biggest bonus is that they are 'dog friendly', and generally the other customers tend to be... More

The Bell Tavern gives the impression of primarily serving the nearby hotel. The authenticity of the pub experience is almost entirely lost when sitting outdoors as you sit at a picnic table and watch your food arrive from over the road, opposite the tavern itself. That being said, the food is nice and service is good. It's just a shame... More
