Small informal restaurant, freshly cooked food with lovely lambs liver and kidneys on toast. The crime brûlée and chocolate mousse also to die for.We went for lunch but they have a larger evening menu open Thursday and Friday for dinner.

This dog friendly establishment has excellent service and amazing affordable food. Cozy atmosphere and a great wine selection . This is a must dine restaurant when in Cape Town city. One needs to book in advance as it is full most of the times.

Love this place! Huge back garden area with fountain. Tables are quite close and it seems that most locals know all the other locals. Menu is pretty static, so as you develop your favorites you can be sure of getting them next time. Food and wine are very reasonable - a delightful lunch with friends with great food, wine and... We first ate here in 2015, returning last year and this - it's probably our favourite in Hermanus, good home cooked food, straight forward black board menu, well priced, friendly service - they always cater for fish or vegetarian- just inform in advance. Last week my goats cheese fig and bacon entre was superb, lovely steak with mushrooms and the... More

Very friendly service. Lovely ambience. The lambs liver was tender with a delicious sauce. Haddock n prawn pie ok. The chocolate mousse was excellent. Lunch reasonable, dinner expensive

We had a memorable dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary. Everything from the service to the food and from the music to the atmosphere were excellent. Without a doubt we had the most intimate cosy dining experience. Great wine too. Can't wait to go back.

The food here is homely, not adventurous. It is the type of thing we would cook at home. Great service and nice surroundings. Clearly popular with regulars. Don't go here if you are looking for the best South Africa has to offer.

We were really looking forward to our evening at the Barefoot cook and felt really let down. It was just the two of us and we were on a table meat to the entrance of the kitchen. No problem really other than we felt like we were in Euston station as the owner rushed passed us time and time again.... More

It was an absolute delight to have dinner at this restaurant. The quality of the every course was exceptional. What is clever is that although the number of choices on the menu is relatively limited they have all been really well thought through to give variety and each one is cooked to perfection. I would award this restaurant eleven points... More

Food is really good. Wine list, particularly by the glass, is limited so bring your own. The cook really is barefoot.
