We had our Thanksgiving meal at the Barefoot Cook, and the meal was fantastic. Our reservation was for 6:30, but we didn't want to leave the beach that early, so they worked us in for an 8PM slot. Food was very good and creative, and the staff was incredibly nice. We were the last table, and the Barefoot Chef even... More

This restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere in its backstreet location. The menu is small and changes daily, but each dish is superb and well presented. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is intimate and warm.

There is a small but well thought out menu with fresh local produce. The food is beautifully cooked and delivered to the table by one of the friendliest front of house staff. We went with friends, all of us had something different and all the dishes were divine. This restaurant is well worth visiting. To cap it all it is... More

Without a doubt - the best dining experience of my life. My wife and I eat out quite often. From the moment you step inside - it feels like you're with your oldest best friend. The decor is beautiful. The menu is seasonal and small - just perfect. Ingrid - much more than a waitress - was so welcoming and... More

From the moment I stepped inside I felt at home. Doggy friendly and the best service ever. Not a huge menu which is lovely. Very accommodating when my girls and myself are vegetarian. Loved the Barefoot Cook and cant wait to visit again. Could of hugged you both Mariclaire and Ingrid when I left. Thank you so much for the... More

Good food with staff that made us feel like we were old friends within minutes. Special consideration for our 7 year old and for our dog. The one way streets in Hermanus make it difficult to get to, but once you're there you can relax.

I had lovely crispy duck and my friend had artichokes in cheese sauce - they were both excellent ! The wine list us representative of the region & the prices excellent. We were served by the owner who is a lively lady with a passion for what she does. The place was buzzing and we had a really lovely ending.... More
