Finally I found a venue that is authentic in its cuisine. So no crossover rubbish, plain and simple Japanese. Staff well trained, food outstanding . You can't just walk in so reservations essential.

Sushi has become really popular in Cape Town – from only a few restaurants offering it a decade and a half ago, you can now get it in your local supermarkets, and in about any restaurant offering fish, apart from the many dedicated sushi places themselves – with or without conveyer belt. But, while I think sushi’s combination of rice,... More

We waited 45minutes for a table we booked st 8pm. The owner never once apologised. Food was expensive and overrated.the door was kept open despite asking 4 times to close. Many better sushi restaurants out there.

A friend and I stopped in for dinner while visiting Cape Town. We had the Japanese Curry Chicken with Soba Noodles and Ramen Noodles with Prawn along with local wines. Both meals were well prepared, with the Japanese Curry Chicken being a particular (and unusual) delight. I would not hesitate to dine here again when visiting Cape Town.

We arrived late at about 9:30 and they were very friendly and offered us a place at the bar as the restaurant was super busy and we didn't reservea a table. They were very helpfull in ansvering... I have visited my share of unfriendly restaurants around the world, but this one really takes the biscuit. When we got there, the place was empty and even though we had made a reservation for a group the owner started to belittle the woman who made the reservation (and eats there regularly) for bringing 12 instead of 11 guests. He... More

Hi Mr.Gerrits, We've checked your version of events out and they do not ring true at all. In other words you've misrepresented what actually happened on the night. This has been confirmed by staff working there on the night and "the woman who made the reservation", If you chose not to return ever again that'd be completely fine by us. More

The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the service is attentive and friendly but the prices ( for both the food and the wine) are exorbitant. The food is average. For example I had the seared tuna which was a small portion and very salty. Another party had the curried chicken which was like a soup with bits of chicken... More

Thin sashimi, few food and very expensive! Unfortunately I will not come back. I paid almost R1500 for two Sakes, one combo of sashimi very thin and one tempura prawn. The ambient is nice, but don't go hungry at all.
